PAUL POGBA has been branded a “rotten tomato” by angry Manchester United fans after being named in the PFA Team of the Year.
Pogba was the only non-Liverpool and Man City ace selected by peers in the All-Star XI.
But supporters reckon he only made the cut because of his penalties this season.
Pogba has scored 13 goals in 32 Premier League appearances this season – but seven of those are from the spot.
He also has nine assists, but that’s four less than Chelsea’s Eden Hazard.
The Belgian has also scored more goals with 16, just four of which have come from the penalty spot.
But Hazard has not made the Team of the Year, leaving Blues fans raging.
POG'S DINNER
United supporters seem to agree with their rivals after Pogba put in a dismal showing during last night’s derby defeat by City at Old Trafford.
The French World Cup winner has since apologised for the hammering.
But United legend Roy Keane claims Pogba is a fraud and nothing he says can be taken at face value.
It’s led to a large number of supporters having their say about Pogba’s latest accolade, with many convinced he is unworthy of the honour.
One said: “He doesn’t deserve it. He is a rotten tomato in Utd’s basket.
“Sell him with De Gea and a few more who don’t want to be at Utd.”
Another wrote: “Only for the pens. Only because of the pens.”
One tweeted: “What for? For being inconsistent egoistic and disrespectful to the fans and the club?”
Another added: “Playing on his reputation, not merit. Hasn’t justified his place in the team of the year, sorry.”
