Man Utd star Cristiano Ronaldo boasts he’s a ‘good-looking strawberry’ who ‘people want to bite’ after Wayne Rooney row | The Sun

CRISTIANO RONALDO has brilliantly compared himself to a strawberry that people want to bite as his row with Wayne Rooney rumbles on.

During his explosive interview with SunSport columnist Piers Morgan, Ronaldo dropped bombshell after bombshell and left no stone unturned.

But in a more light-hearted exchange while discussing criticism he has received from former team-mates, Ronaldo compared himself to a fruit.

He said: "(It's) not only because I play good football. The rest is relevant.

"You have to be charismatic, people have to feel some connection with you. I think to be good looking helps too (laughs).

"I think I'm charismatic. I'm a fruit that people want to bite… let's say a strawberry."

It comes after Ronaldo was on the end of comments from Wayne Rooney and Gary Neville, with the former in particular receiving a stinging bite back from the 37-year-old.

Ronaldo even went so far as to claim that Rooney, who now manages DC United, was JEALOUS of him for his longevity in the game and for "looking better" than him.

The Rooney comments in question saw the Manchester United legend criticise his former team-mate for his refusal to come on against Tottenham.

In another interview, Rooney added that ex-captain Roy Keane would not have accepted the forward's antics.

The Englishman said: "I just think the things he has done from the start of the season; it is not acceptable for Manchester United. I've seen Roy Keane defending him.

"Roy wouldn't accept that. Roy wouldn't accept that at all. It is a distraction which Manchester United don't need at the minute, when they are trying to rebuild.

"For Cristiano, just get your head down and work and be ready to play when the manager needs you. If he does that, he will be an asset. If he doesn't, it will become an unwanted distraction."

Rooney has reportedly been left "bemused" by Ronaldo's hit back, but holds no "animosity" towards him for it.

Ronaldo has aimed both barrels inwards as well, lambasting the Glazers for not caring about the club and a lack of progress within the club.

Erik ten Hag and Ralf Rangnick were also both on the end of stinging assessments from Ronaldo too, as it was revealed Ronaldo did not respect the former while he didn't even know who the latter was.
