De Gea's shadow
Liverpool's Alisson believes Andre Onana will soon emerge from the difficult shadow of legend David De Gea.
Alisson told The Telegraph: "This is a lot of responsibility over your shoulders and he came here with the responsibility to be the replacement for De Gea, who maybe was not in the best shape of his career, but he was still delivering.
"He delivered so many good things for Manchester United and so many appearances and [to replace that] is a big step in your career.
"I think he is capable of this responsibility, but sometimes it takes longer with some than others.
"You are changing your team, you are changing your league.
"They [United] are trying to adapt and discover themselves and that can affect you a lot."

Alisson gives Onana advice
Liverpool stopper Alisson believes Andre Onana is a good goalkeeper and fans need to be patient and support him despite his shaky start to life at Man Utd.
The Brazilian told The Telegraph: "A really good goalkeeper. The Champions League he played last season was amazing.
"I was lucky in that I was coming to a team that was with everything already going in a different way; that was building.
"He needs to be patient, he needs to do that with everything that is going on in his life in the best way that he can.
"I think he is someone who in this moment needs the support of everybody, so I think he will get there.
"I went through something similar to what he is living; coming from an Italian club to England, to a big club, for a lot of money."

Bru serious?
Liverpool legend Graeme Souness believes just one Manchester United player could make Jurgen Klopp's team.
He told the Mail that only Bruno Fernandes "perhaps" is good enough to be a part of the Reds.
Souness said: "I think he would be a star in Liverpool’s team, because he has all the qualities you need to be a top player. Right now, however, there is something missing from his game.”

Rangnick's nine
Former Man Utd boss Ralf Rangnick previously claimed the team needed "open-heart surgery" to fix the problems.
The German took over for the second half of the 2021-22 season after Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was sacked despite initially being set to join the club in a role upstairs to take over transfer business.
Rangnick supposedly alerted Man Utd to nine players and The Mirror claim he suggested the club sign some of:
- Erling Haaland
- Julian Alvarez
- Josko Gvardiol
- Enzo Fernandez
- Christopher Nkunku
- Luis Diaz
- Konrad Laimer
- Alvaro Morata
- Dusan Vlahovic
Klopp baffled my Man Utd
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp claimed he doesn't know what is going wrong at Old Trafford and hedoesn't "understand" why Erik ten Hag is under pressure.
"I don't follow United closely enough to know exactly what the problem is there.
"I saw Erik ten Hag was manager of the month last month and saw they were the team in form in the last month so how can it be all wrong? I just don't understand it.
"The situation with Man Utd – and don't get me wrong – it's just not important for us as we just prepare for our team.
"I try to understand the situation of the opponent before a game, I really do.
"I think it is important to know why they are motivated and want to put things right and sometimes I tell the players and sometimes I don't tell the players."

Galvanised
Jurgen Klopp is worried the bad form and the 7-0 last time out at Anfield could make Man Utd stronger.
The Liverpool boss said: "I never like when the headlines about United are not great before we play because it's like: 'Okay, then it is the game where they can put everything right'.
"The more bad things people say about them, the stronger they will show up. That is always the case. I don't like that."

Klopp on repeating 7-0
“The 7-0 we knew on the day was a freakish result that happens once in life pretty much.
“And if it helps anybody for the next game, it’s the team who lost 7-0 and not the team who won 7-0, that’s another thing.
"If you take it all out of consideration then we just play a football game against the rival, the historical rival, of Liverpool, at home at Anfield.
“That itself must make it a special game and that’s what I want to see from us, a special game.
"Really understand the situation and give your all, that’s all I need.”

Same pressure at Ajax
Erik ten Hag says the pressure to always win at Dutch giants Ajax was intense – so he can handle the even greater heat at Old Trafford.
The Manchester United boss said: “At Ajax, you have to win. Here, you definitely have to win — that is always the demand.
“For those demands, you can never run away from that and I don’t.
“That’s our obligation, to win every game, the squad is good enough to put out a team who can win every game.”
The United chief added that he still has the support from the owning Glazer family despite the downturn this season.
Ten Hag doesn't fear axe
Erik ten Hag does not fear the Manchester United axe as he faces a doomsday scenario at Anfield, writes NEIL CUSTIS.
SunSport revealed this week that former Chelsea boss Graham Potter is favoured by incoming investor Sir Jim Ratcliffe to replace the Dutchman if results do not pick up.
And with United depleted by injuries and a suspension for captain Bruno Fernandes, they travel to league leaders Liverpool tomorrow more in hope than expectation.
But asked if he was concerned about his own position, former Ajax boss Ten Hag said: “No, there is no concern because I’m here to win and I have to make the team play better.
“If you play good, even then good is not good enough.
"We’re inconsistent so I have to work on the team playing for longer periods at a higher level."

Ten Hag believes Glazers still back him
Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag senses club owners the Glazers still support him – and they have told him that feeling is right.
United are out of Europe and a mediocre sixth in the Prem.
But Ten Hag said of the club backing him: “I feel that and they say that, so that’s fine, that’s OK.
“But I’m focusing on the process, on making this team play better, on making the individuals better, that’s my concern.
“That’s all I’m doing, focusing on the right thing and that is the team.”

Ten Hag confirms Maguire and Martial out injured
Luke Shaw and Marcus Rashford have been passed as fit enough to make the squad for Man Utd’s clash against Liverpool, but Harry Maguire and Anthony Martial will miss out.
Speaking in his press conference ahead of the game, manager Erik ten Hag provided an update on his squad for Sunday’s blockbuster match.
He said: “Harry will not be available for the coming games, but we don’t think it’s long term.
“Luke Shaw trained this morning, so we think he’s available for Sunday. Marcus Rashford will be back, Martial not.”

'Keep Sancho away'
Dwight Yorke believes old club Manchester United might need to quickly get rid of outcast winger Jadon Sancho for the good of "morale" – as he just "strolls through life".
The former hitman worries the England ace will be a bad influence and urged United to keep him away from the dressing room.
Yorke told InstantCasino.com: "Clubs can't do their best work with constant drama surrounding it. The bad spirit will always manifest.
"Sancho shouldn't be anywhere near the first team and he shouldn't mingle with the first team.
"Man United are going through a tough spell right now, and they shouldn't have to deal with the Sancho situation on top of it.
"The manager has to sort those situations out and he needs to do what he needs to do to make sure he saves his own back and is not embarrassed. If that's the case with Sancho, then I'd get rid of him and keep him away from the dressing room.
"The club needs to sort this out one way or another. It'll continue to manifest if nothing is done as Sancho will still be mates with some players.
"Situations like this aren't good for morale, though. The players will be trying their best to get results, but Sancho will be strolling through life."

Cole says 'mole' has unwelcome role
Ex-Manchester United striker Andy Cole is convinced there is a "mole" leaking secrets from a disgruntled Old Trafford dressing room.
The former Newcastle and England star also believes such breaches only occur when there's a serious problem in the camp.
Cole told Betfred: “There’s definitely a mole isn’t there? Nothing comes out of a good dressing room, regardless of what’s been going on.
"Players fall out, the manager and players fall out and these are things that you’d expect to happen in football, but if you’re in a good dressing room, nobody hears about what’s happening.
"If you’ve got that winning mentality and you want to compete, then not everybody’s going to get on due to the competitive nature of the dressing room.
“At Manchester United now, information is being leaked so regularly and if the dressing room was truly united, then that wouldn’t be happening.
"Everything that’s coming out of the dressing room is negative and that can’t be helping the team and allowing them to move forward.”

Erik promises bright future
Erik ten Hag says he wants to stay and finish the job as Manchester United are heading "absolutely in the "right direction" thanks to brilliant youngsters.
The Red Devils boss said: “I want to progress with my team in the right direction so we are here in a project.
“Last season, we were absolutely in the right direction. We haven’t managed the standards we expect to have and we have a setback.
“But we still can win this season and in the longer term.
“The future for Man United is very good, if you see how many good players we have in the squad, how many good young players we have.”

Goggle Becks
Manchester United legend David Beckham left little to the imagination as he fixed a TV in just his BOXERS.
Wife Victoria told fans “you’re welcome” after posting the cheeky snap to Instagram.
United have rarely been so scared
COMMMENT: Manchester United have not gone into a game in recent memory with so much fear about the outcome, writes NEIL CUSTIS.
Despite the positivity drummed out by under-fire boss Erik ten Hag, you cannot get away from the fact that it could be a humiliation at Anfield on Sunday.
It was last season as the Red Devils had a hellish afternoon, going down 7-0 in Liverpool.
But that was far from expected, – they were 11 games unbeaten and would finish third in the league.
The mood is like chalk and cheese from those days in March.
United have rarely, if ever, gone into this fixture against their bitterest rivals at such long odds to win — 15-2 with one bookie, while Liverpool are 1-4.
You had to double check exactly who Ten Hag was talking about as he described a team travelling to this fixture. The Dutchman said: “We can go head to head with them and that is our challenge for Sunday.
“We will put out a team who can challenge, a team that is confident to win that game.”FULL VERDICT ON THE DREAD DEVILS HERE

Red Devils warned against move for ex-Arsenal kid
Manchester United have been warned against signing Borussia Dortmund's ex-Arsenal kid Donyell Malen.
The Red Devils have been heavily linked with a swoop for the 24-year-old Holland striker this month.
Dortmund are reportedly willing to include Malen in a swap deal for Jadon Sancho, who is expected to leave Old Trafford in January.
However, ex-United striker Dwight Yorke has urged his former club against signing him.
Yorke told Instant Casino: "I’ve not seen much of Donyell Malen, but I know he’s scored a few goals in the Bundesliga.
"I haven’t seen enough of him to make a judgement on him, but he seems to be an alright player.
"United can’t waste money signing players who won’t improve the squad. I’m an aspiring coach, and that’s the first thing I take into consideration before I sign anyone.
"If this player doesn’t raise the level of the position he’s playing in, then the team will continue on the same path.
Malen left Arsenal to join PSV Eindhoven at the age of 18 in 2017, joining Dortmund three years later.
