Man Utd transfer news LIVE: Champions League squad ANNOUNCED, Amrabat UNVEILED, Sancho row latest | The Sun

MANCHESTER UNITED have announced their Champions League squad for the season – and Donny van de Beek is nowhere to be seen.

Elsewhere, manager Erik ten Hag has left Jadon Sancho – who has made the squad – to train with fringe players while the Red Devils gaffer takes a short break.

It comes after the winger was left out of United's travelling squad that lost 3-1 to Arsenal, which Ten Hag put down to "performances in training."

Meanwhile, Sofyan Amrabat has been fully unveiled as a Man Utd player and has been given a familiar shirt number.

    New takeover date

Manchester United's takeover could finally be completed in two months.

According to 90min, Raine Group, who are responsible for overseeing United's takeover on behalf of the unpopular Glazers, set a new deadline of November to conclude the process.

However, there is currently no concrete evidence the process will be sorted out by then.

According to the Daily Mail, the Glazer family refused to sell because neither bidder met their £10billion valuation.

Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al-Thani posed as the favourite to complete a full takeover ahead of Sir Jim Ratcliffe who was looking for majority ownership with the Glazers holding a minority stake.

    Savage on Sancho

Robbie Savage urged Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag and Jadon Sancho to resolve their "awkward situation" and advised the club to put an "arm round him".

    Savage told Planet Sport Bet:

The transfer window is now closed everywhere other than Saudi Arabia and I can’t see Jadon Sancho going there so now they have to think about how they get the best out of him.

You put your arm round him, develop him and give him encouragement. He looks like a player who needs to be told how good he is and to have an arm round him.

Erik ten Hag and Sancho now find themselves in a very awkward situation and they both have different opinions on it.

They both need to get together and resolve it, but the biggest thing for me is that United need to put an arm round him, develop him and see if they can get the Jadon Sancho that everybody knows, playing at the highest level that he can.

    Sancho left behind

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has left Jadon Sancho to stew after heading off on holiday following their public war of words, reports SunSport's Charlie Wyett.

Sancho was one of the few players training at Carrington, with most team-mates off on international duty.

Ten Hag and his coaching staff have taken a short break and thus the winger, whose career at Old Trafford hangs in the balance, is unlikely to see the Dutchman until next week.

The England international has yet to speak to the 53-year-old tactician after his extraordinary attack on the manager on Sunday night.

Following the 3-1 loss to Arsenal, Ten Hag revealed the ex-Borussia Dortmund star had been axed from the United squad because of his “performances in training” and the player strongly denied that.

After a tough period, the 25-year-old has re-established himself as Manchester United's first choice right-back.

The defender has just 12 months remaining on his current deal and the feeling is a renewal would be a long-term one.

He currently earns £100,000-a-week but the club would be willing to increase this in a new deal.

Maguire wants to fight for his place at Manchester United

Fabrizio Romano reports that Harry Maguire will stay and fight for a place in the Manchester United squad this season.

A move to West Ham failed to materialise despite United accepting a £30million bid for the centre-back.

West Ham and Maguire agreed terms on a £120,000-a-week contract but the defender oped to stay partly due to a loyalty bonus he was owed by The Red Devils.

The centre-back was paired with 35-year-old Jonny Evans towards the end of United's 3-1 defeat to Arsenal due to injuries to Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez.

Alvaro Fernandez not fancied by Ten Hag

The Athletic report that some within United's hierarchy believed academy left-back Alvaro Fernandez was worth a try in the first team after injuries to Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia.

But Erik Ten Hag vetoed the idea – and the 20-year-old that finds himself on loan at Granada.

Ten Hag favoured signing a left-back with Premier League experience.

That saw the club sign Tottenham's Sergio Reguilon sign for United on loan.

    Sofyan Amrabat has back injury

Manchester United detected a back injury to Sofyan Amrabat during his medical – meaning he could be sidelined.

The Athletic claim that as the back injury is not thought to be serious, they would press ahead with the deal regardless.

It is not yet known if Amrabat will be sidelined after the international break.

Amrabat's injury coincides with a back injury to Rasmus Hojlund that was also discovered during his medical.

That ruled him out for three games and saw him make his debut off the bench against Arsenal on Sunday.

Manchester United to change transfer strategy

The Athletic report that Manchester United intend to overhaul their transfer strategy going forward.

Instead of offering such lucrative base salaries, the club will now look to move to an incentive based model.

The inability to shift wantaway players on large contracts like Harry Maguire and Donny Van De Beek is what caused the rethink at the club.

In order to avoid similar situations in the future, the club decided to encourage contracts based on success, number of appearances and other factors.

Sancho set for Ten Hag talks

The two are feuding after Erik Ten Hag said he had been left out of the United squad against Arsenal due to his performances in training.

Sancho responded by posting an Instagram story claiming he had been "scapegoated".

It looks unlikely that the winger will play again under Ten Hag but the two will hold talks in order to try and find a resolution to the fractious situation.

    Chelsea considered Sancho

The Daily Mail report that big spending Chelsea weighed up a move for Jadon Sancho over the summer.

But the West London outfit instead opted to sign 21-year-old Cole Palmer from Chelsea for £45million.

It's believed that The Blues were put off of a move for Sancho amid reports about his mindset.

Sancho aimed a thinly veiled dig at manager Erik Ten Hag in an Instagram story on Sunday after the manager questioned his commitment in training.

It now looks likely that the England star will not feature for United again under Ten Hag's tenure.

    No Saudi move for Sancho

The Telegraph report that there is no belief within Saudi Arabia that clubs can lure Jadon Sancho, 23, to the league.

Sancho's exclusion from the United squad led to him claiming he had been made a "scapegoat" in an Instagram story.

With the Saudi transfer window still being open, some had suggested he may make the move in order to play football again this season.

But James Ducker's report in The Telegraph claims Saudi clubs have played down that possibility.

    Ramos snubbed Man Utd

Sergio Ramos rejected a move to Manchester United before sealing his return to Sevilla, reports SunSport’s Dylan Terry.

Ramos left Paris Saint-Germain at the end of last season after a difficult two years in Ligue 1.

SunSport can now exclusively reveal the centre-back was also approached by United, who tabled a bid that was swiftly rejected by the Real Madrid legend.

After Raphael Varane’s injury last month, the Red Devils made a late effort to sign the ex-Spain international as the summer transfer window prepared to slam shut.

But the Manchester giants were slow to detail the terms of the offer – before they eventually proposed a one-year, £73,000-a-week contract to the 37-year-old veteran.

This was immediately declined by the World Cup winner and United were said to be upset that he turned them down so quickly.

    Roy Keane incident

A 42-year-old man was arrested after Roy Keane was allegedly headbutted during the Premier League match between Arsenal and Manchester United.

Footage emerged from the Emirates showing Keane's Sky Sports colleague Micah Richards pinning a fan against a wall during an altercation on Sunday.

The Sky Sports pair were left shaken after the confrontation, SunSport understands.

The former Premier League stars had been waiting for a lift at the top of the West Stand during the closing minutes when the altercation broke out.

They had been making their way from a studio down to the pitch to share their post-match thoughts as part of Sky Sports’ coverage.

The pair then tried to race back to the studio after Alejandro Garnacho scored what was thought to be United’s winner, before the goal was disallowed by VAR for offside.

The ex-Republic of Ireland international is then alleged to have been confronted by the man before Richards stepped in and appeared to grab him by the collar.

    Antony accused of domestic abuse

Manchester United player Antony's ex-partner Gabriela Cavallin has come forward with new text messages amid allegations of domestic violence.

It comes after the winger denied assaulting Cavallin and vowed to clear his name after being quizzed by cops in Brazil.

The DJ's fresh claims were first published by UOL, one of Brazil's largest news providers.

The 23-year-old also shared a pair of new images showing injuries on her head and fingers, claiming to be a result of the Brazil international's alleged attacks.

Cavallin claims her finger was cut to the bone and that the 23-year-old attacked her while she was pregnant.

In a new string of undated WhatsApp messages, she alleges Antony wished she was dead and told her to "go f**k yourself" after she allegedly refused to reply to his messages and calls.

    Jadon Sancho showdown talks

Manchester United ace Jadon Sancho faces crunch talks with manager Erik ten Hag amid claims Antony gets preferential treatment.

Sancho hit back after Ten Hag insisted the winger was left out of the squad for Sunday's 3-1 defeat at Arsenal because he had trained poorly.

Friends of the England international believe the Brazil international has unfairly kept him out of the team despite poor form.

United legend Rio Ferdinand reckons the 23-year-old as well as Alejandro Garnacho should be baffled why Antony is starting ahead of them.

The Dutch head coach is expected to try to calm things down in a chat with the ex-Borussia Dortmund star.

    Brazil drop Antony

The Brazilian federation issued an official statement confirming Manchester United player Antony has been dropped.

This comes amid an investigation following allegations of domestic abuse from the winger's former girlfriend Gabriela Cavallin.

    Antony issues response

Manchester United player Antony shared his response to recent allegations of domestic abuse from former girlfriend Gabriela Cavallin.

Out of respect for my fans, friends and family I feel obligated to speak publicly about the false accusations I have been a victim of. From the beginning I have handled this issue seriously and with respect, providing the due clarifications to the police authority.

The police inquest is under cover of justice, and therefore I cannot make its content public. However, I can say with confidence that the accusations are false and that the evidence already produced and more to be produced show that I am innocent of the accusations made.

My relationship with Ms. Gabriela was tumultuous, with verbal offences from both sides, but I never practiced any physical aggression. Every time, whether in testimony or in interview, she presents a different version of the accusations.

Thus, I come to deny the accusations made and inform that I remain at the full disposal of the Brazilian authorities to clarify what is needed. I trust the ongoing police investigations will reveal the truth about my innocence.

    Dimitar Berbatov EXCLUSIVE

Manchester United legend Dimitar Berbatov has named his perfect five-a-side team made up of former team-mates… and there is NO Cristiano Ronaldo.

Naming his team, the Betfair Ambassador exclusively told SunSport's Dylan Terry:

"[Edwin] Van der Sar probably in the goal.

I will put myself in the back because five-a-side I play in the back. Myself and Vida [Nemanja Vidic] probably.

I will have Scholesy [Paul Scholes] because his thinking is so quick.

Up front it's going to either be Wazza [Wayne Rooney] – I can say easily Ronaldo – but I'll go with Wazza probably because Wazza was good also in tight spaces, quick with the feet"

    Just not Wright

Arsenal legend Ian Wright "can't believe" Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag prefers Antony over Alejandro Garnacho.

I think Garnacho is a positive. I think they’ve got to find some way of getting a midfielder in their team who can get on the ball, control it and then use the pace of [Marcus] Rashford and use the pace of Garnacho.

Because they’re playing on the counter-attack. I’m listening to Bruno Fernandes saying he was happy with the way it went, he thought they played well and dug in.

Man United have got the kind of players [to attack more]. We saw it with Garnacho, who I cannot believe does not start in front of someone like Antony.

He [Garnacho] can come on in that game and, even if you’re playing in that style of football, he’s surely going to be better than what Antony is giving you at this particularly moment. We saw it in that little cameo there what he did.

For me, Man United are only missing a person to get the ball in midfield and control it and pass it so they can build up their movement off the ball.
