Next Man Utd manager – latest odds: Pochettino favourite to replace Ten Hag – Zidane, Simeone and Solskjaer in mix | The Sun

MAURICIO POCHETTINO is the bookmakers' favourite to be the next Manchester United manager.

Betfair have the former Tottenham and PSG boss as the 5/4 market leader to replace Erik ten Hag after United's start to the season.

The season started with an opening day defeat to Brighton, further compounded by an embarrassing 4-0 thumping at Brentford the following week.

Cristiano Ronaldo was trying to orchestrate a move away from the club after a summer of transfer rumours and United were in complete disarray.

But since then, the corner has well and truly been turned.

They have beaten Liverpool and Arsenal at home and picked up three points at Southampton and Leicester to climb their way up the table and make it four wins in a row in the league.

Their Europa League campaign started in defeat to Real Sociedad before a 2-0 win away at Sheriff Tiraspol before the international break.

Nevertheless, Pochettino has been backed as the favourite to take over from Ten Hag, with Betfair going 5/4 he does so.

Poch has been out of work since losing his job at PSG over the summer after failing to win the Champions League.

He has been linked with the United post on several occasions.

Zinedine Zidane is another to find himself constantly linked with the post and he is next at 5/1.

That is ahead of Graham Potter at 9/1, who recently took the vacancy at Chelsea.

Given the pressure he is under with the England team, could Gareth Southgate be on the hunt for a new job soon?

The Three Lions boss had a seriously poor Nations League campaign and goes into the World Cup under pressure – he is 12/1 for the United job next.

Brendan Rodgers is another boss under huge pressure and is 16/1, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer making a sensational return at 20/1 – the same price as Diego Simeone.
