THE OUTCOME of a three-year long investigation into a highly controversial Dundalk race will finally be revealed next month.
Punters were left fuming back in March 2020, when the Denis Hogan-trained pair of Tony The Gent and Yuften locked horns.
Yuften looked set to go off odds-on favourite, having opened up a strong 8-11 chance, but he drifted markedly out to 6-4.
He missed the break before flying home into a never-nearer second, but that wasn't the controversy.
The race was won by his stablemate and fellow James McCauley-owned runner Tony The Gent.
He opened up at 15-8, but was slammed into 10-11 before the off, sparking outrage among punters.
Hogan told stewards he was initially upset by how Yuften's jockey JJ Doyle had ridden, but after speaking to him was happy he could have done no more to reel in Tony The Gent.
Betting patterns were considered and the matter was referred to the IHRB.
An IHRB statement to RacingTV read: "Having considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards referred the matter to the IHRB for further investigation.
"A comprehensive investigation has concluded and a Referral Hearing into the matter is scheduled to take place on the 11th and 12th November.
