Claps are in order for darts star Peter Hudson after he proudly showed off his gargantuan weight loss on social media.

The 39-year-old from Eccles (in Manchester, not the delicious cakes) uploaded a clip of himself in action in 2017, back when he was at his heaviest, to X (formerly Twitter). "Was packing a few pounds (stone) then," Hudson wrote, "think I had another two people hiding in my shirt."

His massive former frame inspired his nickname, 'The Rock', but on recent evidence he might have to start calling himself 'The Pebble'. Quote-posting the footage, he uploaded a current snap of himself looking as lean as the very darts he throws for a living.

"Got rid of those two other people in my shirt," he joked, prompting an appropriately congratulatory response from his followers. One wrote: "Go you, looking great Rocky!"

Another said: "Fair play pal." A third said: "Amazing achievement Pete, really happy for you it’s harder than people think," while a fourth wrote: "Wowzers Peter! You look fantastic! Bloody well done."

"What an effort to get back down mate," a fifth user posted, while another said: "Got to say mate all credit to you. I know how hard you've worked to shed the weight so congratulations. You deserve to show off!"

In 2014, Hudson was asked to sum himself up in three words. He said: "Steady", "uncomplicated", and "large". You might have to amend that last one now, Peter.
