Premier League sack race – Rangnick price slashed to leave Man Utd, Ranieri favourite to be next out, Benitez in the mix

CLAUDIO RANIERI is the new favourite in the Premier League sack race after a run of six defeats on the spin – but Ralf Rangnick's price has also been slashed after a tough period.

Watford's run of defeats follow the 4-1 win over Manchester United, one of only two wins for Ranieri in 11 games.

Pressure is increasing on the Italian as he battles relegation.

Watford sit fourth bottom but only two points above Burnley who have a game in hand.

Their form is now the worst in the league with Newcastle picking up five points in that period.

Ranieri replaced Xisco Munoz on October 4 on a two-year deal, but is now the favourite with Betfair at 6/4 ahead of Rafael Benitez at 2/1.

Everton have been struggling and find themselves in 15th place and only six clear of the relegation zone.

But they have already made moves in the January window as they look to improve in the second half of the season.

They’ve splashed out on full-backs on either side with Nathan Patterson arriving from Rangers and Vitalii Mykolenko from Dynamo Kiev.

Benitez will hope they can make an impact as he hangs onto his job at Goodison Park.

Next Premier League manager to leave

Betfair odds

  • Claudio Ranieri 6/4
  • Rafael Benitez 2/1
  • Eddie Howe 13/2
  • Ralf Rangnick 15/2
  • No manager to leave 12/1
  • Ralph Hassenhuttl 14/1
  • Thomas Tuchel 16/1
  • Sean Dyche 16/1

Next on Betfair’s list is Eddie Howe at 13/2 followed by Ralf Rangnick, who has been cut to 15/2, at Manchester United.

Rangnick is only contracted until the summer but is facing some unrest at Old Trafford after a difficult start.

United have slipped to seventh, 22 points behind leaders Manchester City and there is thought to be growing discontent in the camp.

After Rangnick, Betfair have priced up no manager to leave this season at 12/1 following six dismissals already.

After that the likes of Ralph Hassenhuttle, Thomas Tuchel and Sean Dyche find themselves priced between 14-16/1.

The longest-prices bosses are Pep Guardiola, Jurgen Klopp and Antonio Conte all at 80/1.
