Spice Girl Mel C ditches formal dress code to stun in skintight minidress among glam racegoers in Melbourne | The Sun

SPICE GIRL Mel C ditched the formal dress code as she hit the races Down Under.

The 49-year-old Sporty Spice, real name Melanie Chisholm, is touring Australia for a series of DJ gigs.

But she took time out today for a spot of horseracing at Stakes Day in Flemington, Melbourne.

And Mel C certainly caused a stir amongst fellow punters as she donned a skintight frock.

The Merseyside-born star turned heads in the green number, which also revealed her bright orange bra.

And the pop music icon completed her casual look and lived up to her nickname by wearing a pair of white trainers.

No doubt she will be hoping to back several winners – but Mel C will be desperate to avoid any drunken scenes that marred the race course last week.

Boozy carnage broke out as 85,000 punters got legless celebrating the Melbourne Cup on November 7.

Fans flocked to Flemington to see 7-1 hotshot Without A Fight thrash rivals and give jockey Mark Zahra back-to-back wins in the 'race that stops a nation'.

However, the party did not get into full swing until after the last race when the effects of a big day's drinking and betting were on full display.

A lady completely lost control as she fell backwards off her seat and crashed into the ground – while still clutching her drink – with her mates in stitches watching her tumble over with just one shoe on.

Then a bloke fell backwards off his chair with his head narrowly missing a pile of cans that had built up on the floor.

Meanwhile, hundreds of others kicked off their heels and partied and danced to a live band while police patrolled the enclosures.

And that was after the races turned to chaos with drinks and limbs everywhere ahead of the Melbourne Cup three days earlier.

A monster clean-up operation was needed to get the famous track back in shape for the showpiece after the pristine turf was strewn with litter chucked to the ground.

And pictures showed a few racegoers on the deck too, no doubt feeling the effects of one too many.

Meanwhile, Mel C was not the only big name in attendance today as a host of stars from sport, reality TV and influencers enjoyed the races.

Australia’s former Miss Universe winner Olivia Molly Rogers, 31, stunned in a mid-length green frock with a matching bow in her hair.
