ONE thing is for sure . . . us jockeys won’t be letting Quickthorn have it his own way in the Lonsdale.
He and Tom Marquand made a few of us look silly at Goodwood and you can bet he won’t get an easy lead today.
I’m back on COURAGE MON AMI (2.25) again and I think I have a good chance of making it eight Lonsdale Cups.
He won the Gold Cup at Ascot — and Goodwood was just a bizarre race.
He’s in good form, he’s never going to burn up the gallops but everyone is more than happy with him.
We need to prove that Ascot wasn’t just a one-off and we’ve got a good opportunity to do so back on better ground.
I fancy our chances.
The Nunthorpe is always a great race and one us jockeys look forward to year after year. This time I’m on TWILIGHT CALLS (3.35).
He’s a big price but he’s a horse I’ve been following for a while.
It’s great to get on him for the first time and I think he can win a big one before long.

A 25-1 chance I love and who wins Highfield Princess vs Bradsell rematch
He likes to come from off the pace and he arrives here off the back of a cracking run in the King’s Stand.
It’s a big field and the pace is usually good, so that should help.
He just loves to come past horses and I would be shocked if this isn’t run at a million miles per hour. Saying that, there are some very good sprinters in here.
Highfield Princess, Bradsell and then the two-year-old Big Evs all have strong claims. Hopefully we get the gaps and can fly home!
It was gutting not to win on Free Wind yesterday. It was tight!
I thought I was going to get there but full credit to Warm Heart and James Doyle.
When we came to challenge her she just kicked again and held on.
I wish I could have got at my filly earlier and then who knows.
