Journalist Dave Meltzer said: “Unlike other New Japan guys who they are after, this is one where the confidence level is at the point where it’s being talked about more prominently.
“At least one idea has been talked about which would involve him at NXT.”
Kushida is the current IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion and he has been a cornerstone of the hugely-popular NJPW division since joining in 2010.
The Tokyo-born ace is also a specialist in mixed martial arts and is undefeated in MMA competition.

Kushida is already well-known to American audiences having previously held the World Television Title in Ring of Honor.
And his deadly submission and high-flyer skills would no doubt make him a huge fan fave in WWE.
