10 The Express (2008) – $9.8 million

This is the first movie that Chadwick Boseman was apart of. So, it’s safe to say we definitely think you should watch this one. This biography sports drama is based on the life of college football legend, Ernie Davis. Davis was the first African-America to win the Heisman Trophy. Starring Rob Brown, Dennis Quaid, and Clancy Brown, our main man has a supporting role in this one. Still, this story is exceptional, and it’s totally worth your time.

9 Marshall (2017) – $10.1 million

This is another flick based on a true story, but this one is based on crime. This is the story of Thurgood Marshall (who is played by Chadwick Boseman), a young, African-American lawyer who defends an African-American butler after his Caucasian, female boss claims he raped her. Marshall becomes the first African-America Supreme Court Justice, and this case is one that projected his career. Starring alongside Josh Gad, Kate Hudson, and Sterling K. Brown, this movie has all the drama and racial tension it takes for a great court-room flick. Plus, Chadwick is brilliant in this leading role.

8 Get on Up (2014) – $30.7 million

This is another biography where Chadwick takes the leading role, but this one is a music biopic. Boseman plays the role of James Brown, and this movie tells his tale from extreme poverty to becoming the infamous musician we know him to be.

This movie also has Dan Aykroyd, Nelsan Ellis, and Viola Davis. It did pretty well with the critics, and clearly it also did at the box office. This is a different role for our man, and we still loved every second of it.

7 Gods of Egypt (2016) – $31.1 million

This one is definitely not a biography. Rather, this action-adventure takes place in Egypt and tells the story of the gods. A mortal hero (Brenton Thwaites) teams up with the god Horus (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) to take down the merciless god of darkness (Gerard Butler).  Our lovely man, Chadwick Boseman, plays the hilarious and scene-stealing role of Thoth. This movie isn’t great, to be honest, but it’s still fun to watch and has a ton of great actors. Plus, Boseman’s character will definitely put a smile on your face.

6 42 (2013) – $95 million

This is yet another biography sport drama. Taking place in 1947, Chadwick Boseman plays Jackie Robinson. Robinson was the first African-America to play in the MLB when he was signed to the Brooklyn Dodgers.

However, his struggles against racism did not stop there. This is an incredible tale of talent, racism, and strength. Chadwick Boseman is absolutely brilliant, and we couldn’t think of any one better to tell this amazing and inspiring story.

5 Draft Day (2014) – $28.8 million

This is another sports drama, but this one is fictional. General Manager Sonny Weaver (Kevin Costner) tries to rebuild his team during the NFL draft. He must decide what he’s willing to give up in order to change the lives of hundreds of young men. Chadwick Boseman is the secondary man in this flick that also includes Jennifer Garner. This movie is dramatic, and totally everything you want in a sports flick.

4 Captain America: Civil War (2016) – $408.1 million

This was the movie we met Chadwick Boseman as Black Panther. This is the epic battle between Captain America and Iron Man, and the two create their own team of Avengers to take on the other.

Black Panther sides with Iron Man, and we get to see the badass and awesome character that this hero is, and how brilliant Boseman tackles the role. This definitely hyped us for his solo movie, which we’re sure you guessed is coming up soon on this list.

3 Avengers: Infinity War (2018) – $678.8 million

This flick tore all of our hearts out, and we’re sure you’ve all seen it by now (at least twice, right?). Thanos is the new villain, and he threatens to wipe out half the human race. The Avengers team up in one of the most riveting battles we’ve ever seen from Marvel, and we were definitely not disappointed. If you didn’t think Black Panther was the coolest superhero before this movie, you definitely do now.

2 Black Panther (2018) – $700.1 million

Finally, we got a solo flick with this incredible character. We get to see the story of T’Challa becoming the King of Wakanda. But first, he must confront an old relative from his past. If Chadwick Boseman wasn’t enough for you, Michael B. Jordan absolutely slays the role of Eric Killmonger. We also loved Lupita Nyong’o, Martin Freeman, Daniel Kaluuya, Sterling K. Brown, and many more who made this movie intense and enthralling. Seriously, we love Chadwick, but we think we might even love Black Panther more.

1 Avengers: Endgame (2019) – $858.4 million

Of course, the four Marvel flicks Chadwick has been a part of take the top 4 slots on this list. While that’s probably not surprising, it’s probably also not surprising that Avengers: Endgame takes the #1 spot. This was the last flick of our generation of the Avengers, and we probably all felt a little heartbroken leaving the theater. Still, we loved seeing these characters together on screen one last time, and Black Panther definitely continued to steal our hearts.
