Adam Collard has revealed he wants to see Sam Thompson voted for a trial on I'm A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! as it would make "good television".
Adam, 28, dated Sam's girlfriend Zara McDermott, 26, in 2018 after meeting her on Love Island but their romance eventually fizzled out. Zara has been dating Made in Chelsea's Sam, 31, since May 2019.
Adam, who is dating sports presenter Laura Woods, has now shared his thoughts on ex-girlfriend Zara's beau Sam, revealing that while there is no drama between them, he would love to Sam do an eating trial while in the jungle.
“People absolutely love drama – Sam and I are fine. Zara and I were kids," Adam said in an interview with LuckyBlock.com.
Adam added: "And he’ll probably be really funny in the jungle. He’ll probably do really well, and he couldn’t be more dissimilar to me if you possibly tried. I feel like I’d love to see Sam get stuck in. I think if he did that eating one, that’d be funny. That’d be good television."
The Love Islander also said he'd love the opportunity to go into the I'm A Celeb jungle, admitting: "I would love to go in the jungle, but I haven’t actually seen any rumours about me going!”
Adam appeared on Love Island in 2018 and 2022 and has also taken part in Celebs Go Dating. However, I'm A Celeb or Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins are now in his sights.
It's not just Adam who wants to see Sam take on a trial however, as Zara is also frantically voting for him as well as many of his family members, including older sister Louise Thompson.
“I can't wait for Sam to be voted to do a trial," Zara told The Sun. "Me, Louise and the rest of the family will be voting for him every night. He’ll be so determined not to let the team down that I know he'll smash it."
Sam narrowly missed out on the trial at the end of Tuesday's episode, with Jamie Lynn Spears receiving slightly more votes than him, resulting in her taking on the terrifying Climb of Cruelty Bushtucker Trial.
He might be waiting to take on a trial, but Sam has proven to be a hit with TV viewers so far thanks to his positivity and fun character.
Zara is super proud of him too, saying: "We're only three episodes in but I already couldn't be prouder. He always puts others before himself and that's really coming through."
