All Creatures Great and Small season 4 trailer
All Creatures Great and Small has given fans a glimpse at Tristan Farnon’s (played by Callum Woodhouse) replacement in a first look at its season four trailer.
The one-minute clip shows new vet Richard Carmody (James Anthony-Rose) in action – but could an exit be on the cards quicker than fans thought?
The video also teases baby news for James Herriot (Nicholas Ralph) and Helen Herriot (Rachel Shenton), and it looks like they’re expecting a bundle of joy of their own.
While, fan favourites Siegfried Farnon (Samuel West), Mrs Hall (Anna Madeley), and Mrs Pumphrey (Patricia Hodge) also make an appearance.
The clip begins with Siegfried saying: “I’m afraid the paperwork has the upper hand at the moment as does everything else.”

As the newcomer makes an appearance, Siegfried doesn’t look too thrilled about it as he fumed: “Richard Carmody from London, he won’t last.”
“May I begin, Mr. Herriot,” Richard asked before he slipped and landed face-first in a pile of mud.
“I thought that went rather well,” he joked before James offered some words of advice.
The vet shared: “The animals are the easy part, of course, it’s the people that cause all the bother.”

As the clip came to a close, Rachel was seen cooing over some children. She said: “James, look at their little faces.”
“Is that broodiness I detect?” he asked his wife before adding: “We said we’d wait.”
“I know,” Rachel replied. “Just not sure what we are waiting for.”
The vet’s wife added: “If this war has taught us anything, it is to grab on to the things you love and try and cherish every moment.”
Tristan left Skeldale to go and fight in the war effort, and at the end of the Christmas special, he gave an emotional speech.
Speaking about the actor’s departure on Masterpiece Studio’s podcast, actor Nicholas Ralph revealed there were mixed feelings for James when his best pal left.
He said: “I think he’s incredibly proud of Tristan at that moment. He has a lot of admiration for him.
“He has admiration for Tristan anyway for various different things. His savviness, how social he is. It’s lovely to see how they help one another out throughout the seasons.”
All Creatures Great and Small returns on October 5 at 9pm on Channel 5.
