BBC drops first look at Peaky Blinders creator's gritty new drama – with cast full of familiar faces | The Sun

THE MAN behind Peaky Blinders has come up with a new gritty drama – and it's going to be airing soon.

The BBC has shared a sneak peak into the new world of This Town, and music lovers will be especially excited to watch the show.

It all kicks off in 1981 against a background of social unrest, with a group of young people fighting to make a name for themselves as part of a band.

The youths will dip their toes in the world of music by performing ska, which was very popular in England in the 80s.

The genre is known for having united young people regardless of race or ethnic background.

Steven Knight made sure the show was shot in Birmingham, which was one of the original homes of ska music in the UK.

Major cast members viewers can look out for include Downtown Abbey's Michelle Dockery, Nicholas Pinnock, and David Dawson.

A familiar face from Peaky Blinders will also pop up in This Town, as Irish actor Brendan Gibson is set to appear in the drama.
