BBC EastEnders spoilers – Phil out for revenge as he rumbles fake kidnap plot

In EastEnders scenes set to air in December, Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) is on the warpath when he finds the person in possession of his ransom money.

Phil Mitchell becomes suspicious when he sees Karen Taylor (Lorraine Stanley) splashing cash in The Vic. Phil’s further intrigued when Mitch Baker (Roger Griffiths) ends up in a car accident with Harvey Monroe (Ross Boatman) and Karen goes behind Mitch’s back to settle the debt.

When Phil examines the notes Karen has given them, he discovers they are his marked bills – the ones he paid the supposed kidnapper. As Phil pieces the puzzle together, he becomes more determined to find more evidence that Albie’s kidnap was actually a set-up by Karen and Keanu..

Phil starts his search for evidence at The Arches, but Kat Slater (Jessie Wallace) insists that the money would be closer to home. Phil goes round to the house, but is turned away by Felix Baker (Matthew James Morrison).

Not giving up, Phil sends Tommy Moon (Sonny Kendall) round to snoop in the Taylor house, where he finds all the ransom money hidden under the bed.

As Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean) excitedly announces she and Keanu Taylor (Danny Walters) will hold their wedding reception at The Vic on Christmas Day, Phil bursts in to tell her that Karen and Keanu staged Albie’s kidnap for money.

Will Sharon believe Phil? And will Keanu and Karen come clean now they’ve been rumbled?

Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner) asks Jack Branning (Scott Maslen) to take on babysitting duties. However, it’s soon clear Jack is out of practice and ends up calling Stacey for help.

Later on, Jack lands himself in hot water with Denise Fox (Diane Parish) when she finds out he told Sam Mitchell (Kim Medcalf) she can stay with them.

Elaine Peacock (Harriet Thorpe) organises a Christmas event in Walford, but takes a break to help Yolande Trueman (Angela Wynter) recruit for the community choir.

But Elaine’s tactics leave Yolande unimpressed and battle lines are drawn.

Sonia Fowler (Natalie Cassidy) tells Reiss Colwell (Jonny Freeman) that her latest appointment shows that she’s on track with this stage of their IVF treatment.

The pair organise a romantic night together, but are interrupted when Reiss gets a call about his wife Debbie.

Kathy Beale (Gillian Taylforth) goes to see Sonia, who is waiting for an update from Reiss and Sonia is ashamed as she confesses to Kathy that she feels haunted by Debbie’s presence.
