Benefits Street star Dee Kelly, otherwise known as Deirdre Kelly, left fans completely shocked at her image overhaul.

In 2014 Dee appeared on the Channel 4 show to show the public the lives of the unemployed residents of James Turner Street in Winson Green – and she was in demand ever since it aired.

By the end of the year she had been on talk shows, flown out to host parties abroad, spoke at a Tory Conference Fringe event, acted in a film and even appeared on Celebrity Big Brother – all in just 12 months.

Her life might not be quite so busy now but her schedule is still jam-packed – and it was this weekend.

Dee headed on a night out in Birmingham over the weekend as she joined a sea of fans in the city centre while posing for pics and pulling pints.

She looked a far cry from the first time she was seen on air as she donned a slightly blonde ombre bob and wore a pink patterned top as she flashed a smile to the camera.

Dee visited various hot spots and looked overjoyed as she joined an abundance of people who were happy to see her as a sign flashed up saying "White Dee from Benefit Street", prompting fans to say hello.

She also shared snaps with her children ahead of going to the city centre, teasing that she was still working out who was responsible out of herself and her daughter.

It seems like Dee had a great time being around fans, but it doesn't mean she's happy about her stint on the show.

She previously opened up about her time on the show to Birmingham Live as she declared it "changed her life forever" and added that it "destroyed the James Turner Street I knew before the show".

Dee confessed she no longer keeps in touch anyone who featured in the show, adding: "In some cases that is a real shame".

After her time on the show Dee moved away to Handsworth in the West Midlands.

She still lives a low-key life for the most part, but she'll still attend events with her family, including ones where she's the guest of honour.
