Bill, 65, has presented Good Morning Britain on a couple of occasions in the past when Piers Morgan, 55, used to take a break from his duties on the show. With the latter now gone, Susanna Reid, 50, has been joined by a whole plethora of stars to oversee proceedings on the programme. However, as of Monday May 24, she will be reunited with her BBC Breakfast co-host for the first time since the pandemic began.

Speaking of returning to his guest-hosting role, Bill said: “I am very pleased to be back presenting on GMB, especially as I get to be reunited with my old pal Susanna.”

Susanna added of getting a new co-host: “I am delighted Bill is back in the presenter chair at the GMB desk.

“He has been a beloved favourite of breakfast television viewers for years and a good friend of mine.”

Editor of the show, Neil Thompson shared: “I’m thrilled that Bill is rejoining us behind the GMB desk.

“It’s not just his brilliant and enduring onscreen partnership with Susanna that makes its mark, it’s his relationship with the audience in general, one based on authenticity, authority, warmth, humour and trust.”
