Shirley Ballas branding Bobby Brazier ‘the king of ballroom’
After seeing his son’s success on this year’s Strictly Come Dancing, Bobby Brazier’s dad Jeff is reportedly considering taking part in the hit show. He’s been championing Bobby, 20, each week, and now Jeff, 44, is said to have changed his mind about doing the show after previously saying no to BBC bosses.
A source told the Mirror: “Jeff has been approached to do the show in the past, and has always said no. But supporting Bobby and watching his experience has really changed his view and he has admitted he would consider it in the future.
“As Bobby’s dad, Jeff has had a front-row seat to everything he has been through and how transformative it has been for him.” Bobby has gone from strength to strength on this year’s series and has now made it to the final, competing against Ellie Leach and Layton Williams.
On Saturday night’s semi-final show, the EastEnders actor took to the dance floor to perform a Quickstep with his partner Dianne Buswell. Following the performance, the pair received excellent feedback from all four judges.
Head judge Shirley Ballas was full of high praise for the actor as she gave him a new title that she had taken from Anton du Beke. She said: “Oh you didn’t let me down! What a way to open the semi-final.”

Shirley, 63, turned to fellow judge Anton, 57, and said: “I must now strip you of your King of Ballroom title and give it to Bobby,” before the crowd erupted into applause.
“Week one, sixes, sevens, the odd eight there and you have come out tonight, you’ve given us the frame, you have shifted across that floor, you had no gapping, you partnered our Dianne so beautifully, you are now the king of ballroom,” she exclaimed.
This prompted Bobby to bow to the cheering audience as Dianne, 34, jumped up and down at the exciting comments from the head judge herself.
Bobby and Dianne performed a Paso Doble to Run Boy Run for their first dance of the night. The duo received a near-perfect score of 38 points out of 40 for their stellar performance.
