‘Bobby’s a star in the making…he’ll be in Hollywood one day’ says Diane

Dianne has such hopes for Bobby that she has made it the theme of their show dance.

The 34-year-old, who joined the series in 2017, declared: “When I first met Bobby he was something really, really special, a star in the making. It’s Bobby goes to Hollywood, basically.

“I do believe he’s going to be massive because just knowing him and seeing him, his hard work, the way he is with people. The small things make him this beautiful star.”

Modestly playing down her admiring words, Bobby, 20, said: “I just want to be good at what I do. Learning and mastering a craft – in small steps.”

Dianne is in a relationship with Joe Sugg, the YouTube star she made it to the final with in 2018. They didn’t win, and now she says lifting the trophy with Bobby would be “magical”.

On tonight’s show, the pair will revisit their emotional Couple’s Choice dance, which was dedicated to Bobby’s late mum Jade Goody, who died from cervical cancer in 2009. “To dance to that again and tell a story like that again is great,” said the model-turned-actor.

They will also re-do their samba. “I’ve always loved moving my hips,” he laughed.

Last weekend Bobby and Dianne, inset, beat Annabel Croft in the dance-off.

On being compared to heart-throb singer Harry Styles and Mick Jagger, Bobby chuckled: “I feel flattered. I hope I can be as good at something as they are.” Fellow Strictly finalist Ellie Leach said she already feels a winner having been paired with dance pro Vito Coppola, 31. The pair have brushed off speculation that they are dating.

But Ellie, 22, may have reignited rumours by telling him: “With you as a teacher, as a partner, I genuinely feel I’ve won.” The other finalists are actor Layton Williams and pro partner Nikita Kuzmin.

Strictly Come Dancing: The Final, BBC1, tonight at 7pm.
