Buffy the Vampire Slayer star Camden Toy has sadly passed away at 68 after a long fight with pancreatic cancer.
His partner, Bethany Henderson, shared the heartbreaking news on December 8, revealing that he had been privately battling the disease for two years.
Bethany took to Facebook to share the sad news, apologising for the sudden announcement as Camden had wished to keep his diagnosis private "for many reasons".
She wrote: "For many reasons we were very hopeful for, at least, a longer and more fruitful time on planet Earth. Even the more recent challenges felt more like a hiccup in progress," before adding: "Unfortunately, it looks like we've reached the end of the road with the doctor's treatment. His condition has declined a lot in the last two months and tremendously in the last several days."
She continued: "Unfortunately, this may be new and shocking news to many of his fans. We both apologise for this and please know that he has appreciated you all so much, as have I."
Camden was best known for his scary role as Turok-Han in the popular TV show Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
He played a terrifying demon that gave the Scooby Gang a real fright, and also starred as the spooky Gentleman and the skin-eating demon Gnarl.
Besides his unforgettable time on Buffy, Camden acted in over 100 independent films and had many roles on TV. He appeared on shows like The Prince of Lies, Goodnight Burbank, The Bay, and Into the Dark, and was in films like Average Joe, Uncanny Annie, Bedeviled, Disciples, and lots more.
When fans heard the sad news that he'd died, they shared lovely messages about him on X, which used to be called Twitter.
One fan said: "Just heard the devastating new that @Camden_Toy has passed away. My deepest condolences to his friends and family. He was such a lovely man and will be dearly missed."
Another wrote: "A sad day in the #BuffyTheVampireSlayer fandom. I just read that #CamdenToy passed away. Always supportive of the #BtVS fandom, we will miss him. Such a gracious person."
James C. Leary, a close friend of the star, shared a heartfelt tribute on social media. He penned: "The world lost a delightfully maniacal, abundantly kind, and overwhelmingly generous soul last night. I had the pleasure and privilege to travel the world, tread the boards, and sail the seas with @Camden_Toy and I shall cherish every moment. Rest easy. #buffythevampireslayer."
