The pair missed out on the quarter-finals when the judges chose to save Layton Williams and Nikita Kuzmin in the dance off.
Angela, an Irish TV presenter and mum of two little girls, said: “It’s been honestly incredible, I’m gutted, really gutted that it’s finished now, but it has been the most wonderful experience.
“I have made the best friend in this man. We have had so much fun, he is such an incredible guy. He has supported me and picked me up and made me laugh so much.”

Carlos, 29 – the Chinese national dance champion – said Angela, 39, had worked “so hard” and added: “Look at her now – I am so proud, her sense of humour and we had so much fun every day. She cracks me up laughing.” The pair, who were last on Saturday’s leaderboard, had to reperform their dance to Gloria Gaynor’s I Will Survive.

Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse and Anton Du Beke voted to save them but Shirley Ballas said: “Important for me always is the character of the dance, that it’s true to the dance…and I would have voted for Angela and Carlos.”
