Sister Wives: Janelle Brown promotes female positivity
Kody Brown was noticeably absent as Christine Brown celebrated their former anniversary on the latest episode of Sister Wives – and this was just how she wanted it.
Christine chose to celebrate the “ex-anniversary” of her 1994 wedding to Kody with his newly separated wife Janelle Brown and a group of select friends in Flagstaff, Arizona.
“Celebrating the day of our divorce isn’t enough,” Christine said about the small gathering.
“I also need to celebrate our old anniversary, our ex-anniversary.”
She called her get-together the “perfect way to celebrate.”

As for the guest list, Christine said it was “awesome” to be joined by “like-minded people” who have also been through divorce.
Of course, Kody thought during her party was the perfect time to call his ex-wife.
Christine called the move “weird,” before refusing to answer the call.
“It’s, like, Kody of all people, but I’m not answering that right now,” the Sister Wives star told her friends.
In her confessional, she said she had “no idea” why Kody wanted to talk to her.
Kody, meanwhile, claimed the call was truly innocent.

“I found out that Christine was in town, so I called her because I wanted to see if [our daughter] Truely was available,” he claimed about the oddly timed phone call.
After ignoring his call, Christine opened up about how Kody wanted to mark their anniversary last year.
Despite her desire to do “nothing” to mark the day, Kody suggested they post a picture together. But she had “no interest” in doing this.
While both Janelle and Christine opened up to their friends about the inner workings of the Brown family’s polygamous arrangement, Christine revealed her “tipping point” came when Kody was not “being the greatest dad to my kids.”

“I think if people wanna live [plural marriage], fine. But I just, to be honest with you, I don’t see it as a great family structure and I really have a hard time with it,” Christine admitted in a confessional.
“But I think once a guy finds the love of his life, the other women are screwed,” she concluded before Kody hurled nasty allegations at his ex-wife, claiming Christine “forced” herself into his life.
“I’m doing my best while not having a good day, believe me, but it still was a failure,” she shared in her confessional. “I just wish he would have sat us all down and said, ‘Look, I found the love of my life. I found Robyn. She and I are soul mates, and we want to live together for the rest of our life. So let’s figure out how to make the other three of you work in this scenario.'”
The group concluded the “ex-anniversary” by toasting to “new beginnings” for Christine.
Fortunately, she started her new beginnings last weekend when she wed David Woolley.
New episodes of Sister Wives air Sundays on TLC.
