Coronation Street exit after 17 years for beloved character

Coronation Street: Ryan Connor considers online sex work

Coronation Street’s Ryan Connor (played by Ryan Prescott) is seemingly set to leave the cobbles next week. He recently started dating Crystal Hyde (Erin Austen) who asked him to move to Glasgow with her for a permanent residency DJ’ing.

He began dating Crystal once again after Daisy Midgeley (Charlotte Jordan) admitted that they could not be together and their affair was a mistake. Being unable to stay in Weatherfield and watch Daisy go on with her life with Daniel, it seems Ryan has made his decision.

Official ITV spoilers have revealed that Ryan decides to leave with Crystal and says his goodbyes to residents including his aunt Carla Connor (Alison King), and heads away in a taxi. Ryan has had a tough year after being attacked with acid and overcoming his fear of being seen in public, getting his confidence back.

His supposed exit isn’t confirmed to be a permanent one for the character, however, future spoilers don’t reveal he will be on screen after his exit.

Ryan’s final scenes will air on Wednesday, December 20 as he bids farewell to the cobble, just days before Peter Barlow (Chris Gascoyne) leaves.

During last night’s episode, Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard) watched a video where Ryan and Daisy spoke about their affair, leading him to the truth.

Ryan suffered severe burns to his face and after months of hospital treatment, Ryan struggled to settle back into life on the Cobbles.

His decision to move to Glasgow with Crystal will come as a huge blow to Daisy as she soon admits to Daniel that she slept with Ryan, putting their relationship on the edge.

Chris Gascoyne will also be leaving the role with his scenes to air on Boxing Day, after struggling to get past the fact he accidentally killed murderer Stephen Reid (Todd Boyce).

Peter actor recently spoke to Metro.co.uk and said: “He is in hell and he is fighting through fear.

“But when he knows that Jenny is pretty adamant she would have been ok, that really starts to affect his mental state of mind.

“As we know Peter has been through a lot and there is no doubt that he will be tempted to drink which really would be a decision to kill the pain and kill himself through alcohol.

“He knows that. This is a real danger zone for him.”
