Coronation Street fans horrified as new mum Grace Vickers leaves baby home alone – and she pays the price

CORONATION Street fans have been left horrified after new mum Grace Vickers left her baby home alone.

The unhinged character has already blackmailed baby Glory's grandparents, demanding a house from Aggie and Ed Bailey if they are to see the tot.

Yet things went one step further tonight when Grace abandoned her baby at home while she headed for a drink with Bernie at the Christmas Markets.

In between beverages, Grace kept having sneaky looks at her mobile phone, which showed a live stream to Glory's cot, fast asleep and unaware that her mum had left her home alone.

As Bernie lamented her own kids growing up so fast, she said: "They practically brought themselves up from being toddlers. They grow up so quick and then bang! They've gone."

Grace replied: "Well, I can't wait" and when Bernie said she shouldn't wish her life away, Grace said: "I'm not, I'm looking forward to getting some of it back, that's all."

The pair were then interrupted by Aggie, and Grace said Glory was at a friends.

Bernie went off to speak to someone, but when she returned she saw Grace looking at her phone watching Glory.

She said: "Please tell me that little girl isn't on her own?"

Caught red-handed, Grace stood up and said: "Oh come on, you totally would have used this tech when Paul and Gemma were babies."

Bernie replied: "CCTV? I could never have left them on their own!"

Grace tried to make light of it, saying: "Oh come on, she's always out for the count around this time anyway, for a solid two hours, what am I supposed to do?Just sit there while she sleeps?"

Bernie cried: "Yes!" but Grace said: "I'm always checking in on her, it's like a baby monitor."

NOT OK

But Bernie was having none of it and said: "No it's not! What if something went wrong? What if there was a fire or you got knocked down or something?"

Cocky Grace told her to stop being so "catastrophic" but Bernie said firmly: "You get back to that baby now. I mean it."

In a strop, Grace said: "I thought you were alright," to which Bernie replied: "Oh I am, but you're not."

Viewers were taken aback by Grace's lack of concern for baby Glory, with one writing on Twitter: "Aggie needs to slap some sense into Grace this Christmas. #Corrie"

Another added: "Grace is lucky Bernie hasn't called the social, never mind Aggie. #Corrie"

A third tweeted: "Good for Bernie tearing into Grace. She's an unfit mum. #Corrie"
