Coronation Street fans rumble how Ryan gets caught after dodgy insurance scam

Coronation Street viewers are convinced they know how Ryan Connor will get caught out after his insurance scam – his fingerprints.

The popular character, played by actor Ryan Prescott, got embroiled in a scam because of Debbie Webster (Sue Devaney), who was using him to help save her from bankruptcy.

The plan saw him staging a break in at the bistro, which went down in gripping scenes in the ITV soap this week.

However, it looks like things are about to go wrong, with Ryan in court, and fans are not surprised.

Many have posted messages on Twitter pointing out that Ryan seemed to pay little attention to forensic evidence, and they reckon it will be his downfall.

Some people also thought CCTV would be an issue for hapless Ryan.

"Duh ever heard of fingerprints Ryan?" asked one stunned fan.

Another noted: "Ryan and his fingerprints all over this job."

Someone else tweeted: "Ryan will never be thief because he's left his fingerprints all over the place and hasn't covered his face."

"God Ryan, you crap robber, you left your fingerprints," another viewer tweeted.

"Ryan didn't wipe his prints off the fire extinguisher did he?" someone else pointed out.

"Oops!" quipped another. "DNA, no gloves, CCTV, what has Ryan got in his favour?"

"Ryan has left his fingerprints everywhere," said another person, teasing that the character was "not the sharpest tool in the box".

Someone else picked up another potential problem for Ryan.

They tweeted: "Also… Will Chief of police Craig work out inside job as Ryan smashed window from inside? Therefore most glass would be on outside.. Breaking in would leave most glass inside!"

The character Ryan first appeared in Weatherfield in 2006.

Actor Ryan joined the soap in 2018, after the part was previously played by Sol Heras.

Before Corrie he had parts in Holby City, Doctors and Casualty and he also played Flynn Buchanan in fellow ITV soap Emmerdale.

Coronation Street airs Monday, Wednesday and Friday on ITV at 8pm
