Coronation Street fans 'work out' Hope's groomer's link to killer John | The Sun

FIZ Stape and Tyrone Dobbs have been horrified to find excerpts of a book about John Stape in the local newspaper.

Coronation Street viewers are convinced they've uncovered who may be responsible.

The Underworld machinist portrayed by Jennie McAlpine has gone above and beyond to put the past behind her.

But life in Weatherfield is often full of surprises and history is always bound to haunt residents.

The book talks about serial killer John Stape's family life with the help of information given by a groomed Hope Stape.

Eleven-year-old Hope (Isabella Flanagan) is also mentioned in the book as the criminal's "offspring."

ITV viewers have been wondering who the author of the book could be since the storyline began and why they'd be so adamant on terrorising Fiz.

One soap fan turned to social media and pointed the finger to Jade Rowan, John's other daughter.

They wrote: "I'll be mighty surprised if it isn't Jade behind the latest John Stape drama."

Another soap fan jumped in and agreed: "I wonder if the author of the book could be Jade? She was John Stape's other daughter and when she left she said this wouldn't be the end of it!"

Jade, played by Lottie Henshall, was last seen in the cobbles in 2020 after she had harboured a secret vendetta against Fiz.

She first appeared in the program as a teaching assistant helping an overwhelmed Fiz home school Hope and was progressively introduced as John Stape's secret daughter.

A third viewer questioned whether Hope's online friend could be the author of the book.

The young girl was seen talking to an unknown online pal called Mad Dog in previous scenes of the Manchester-based drama.

Fans quickly dreaded the outcome of this new friendship, believing the mystery friend could have a sinister ulterior motive.

"What if the person behind the book that is being written about John Stape is this 'Mad Dog' Hope has been talking to online?" the viewer commented.

Another echoed: "I bet Hope has been speaking to the person who wrote the book, that’s how they’ve found out everything about John."

But there's another contender viewers seem to have forgotten – Phill Whittaker.

Fiz's jilted fiancé was caught by Hope earlier in the year with the clear intention of writing a book about John Stape.

Could he have gone through with his plan as revenge for his failed marriage with Fiz?
