Coronation Street’s Katie McGlynn, who plays Sinead Tinker, will be leaving the soap later this year, according to reports.
The Coronation Street cast member’s departure comes after Faye Brookes, who plays Kate Connor, and Tristan Gemmill, who plays Robert Preston, announced their exits earlier this week.
Kym Marsh, who plays Michelle Connor, is also set to leave the soap later this year, while Gina Seddon and Rana Habeeb have already made their exits.
Sinead has only just gone into remission after being diagnosed with cervical cancer while pregnant with her first child.
She put off getting treatment after being told she would have to terminate the pregnancy because the radiotherapy would damage the baby.
Sinead was later forced to deliver her baby prematurely as doctors told her she couldn’t wait any long to get cancer treatment, leading to tense labour scenes.
While Sinead managed to safely deliver her baby and recover, could her cancer be set to return as she leaves the soap?
Corrie are not confirming the exit or how Sinead would be departing, but did hint there could be a sad twist ahead for the fan favourite.
They told Metro.co.uk: “Katie is fully committed to playing out the extremely important storyline she is currently portraying on screen.
“This story still has a long way to go. Any speculation threatens to undermine the storyline for viewers.”
Could Sinead be about to battle cancer once again as it returns to take her life?
Fans will have to wait and see what happens…
Corrie continues tomorrow at 7.30pm on ITV.
