Strictly Come Dancing judge Anton du Beke said he was "mortified" as Dan Walker made a mistake in his movie week routine.

The BBC Breakfast presenter, 44, and his professional dance partner Nadiya Bychkova performed a routine to a Sleeping Beauty song, with Dan making a mistake in the choreography.

Critiquing him afterwards, Anton said: "Oh, I wanted to say, 'arise Sir Daniel', but you went wrong and I can't tell you who's more disappointed, me or you quite frankly because you were dancing it quite elegantly.

"You've got a wonderful posture and your arms are improving… but you went wrong.

"I'm absolutely mortified for you because I was going to give you 25 points."

Dan replied: "If it makes you feel any better, I'm gutted as well."

The error was also picked up by the other Strictly judges.

Dan was the second celebrity up in the movie week line-up.

Speaking after his dance, he said: "The whole point of this programme is that people who can't dance are learning to dance and part of the process of learning to dance is making mistakes."

Dan also revealed that he felt like he had 'let Nadiya down a little bit'.

He added: "I love this show because people do make mistakes and get better and I'm really enjoying learning to dance so hopefully, I'll get another chance."

Elsewhere in the movie week special, Greg Wise's wife Emma Thompson surprised him at training and took up a bit of dancing herself.

Robert Webb's former Peep Show co-star David Mitchell also appeared in the audience, while AJ Odudu grew emotional after securing her highest score of the competition so far.

Strictly airs at the weekend on BBC One.
