The 90s pop star has been through heartache lately following the sudden death of her ex-boyfriend and bandmate Paul Cattermole.

Now it seems the 42-year-old's going to keep herself busy by focusing on learning how to skate in front of millions.

"I`m really excited about learning a new skill," she said.

"It's so easy to live your comfortable life and that aspect of mixing things up is very appealing.

"Fitness is another reason why I’m doing it! It's really exciting.”

She's following in the footsteps of her S Club co-star Rachel who was third to be eliminated from the competition in 2022.

Claire Sweeney

Actress Claire Sweeney is this year's soap star who will work to secure viewers' votes to stay in the competition.

She has been on telly since for more than three decades after starting her career in Brookside.

Claire recently returned to the soap world, joining Coronation Street as Cassandra Plummer who is Tyrone Dobbs' biological mum.

Single mum Claire says she's doing Dancing on Ice for her eight-year-old son.

She said: I’m really looking forward to going to an ice rink with my son and actually being able to skate and not have to use the penguins they give you to help you stay upright!”

Ricky Norwood

He was axed from EastEnders in 2015 after a controversial video of him was leaked online.

After spiralling into depression and disappearing from the industry, Ricky is making a return to the ITV dance show.

He said: “Being on the ice! I’m apprehensive about the lifts, especially the headbanger.

"I’ve got to trust in the process, trust in the training, trust in the trainers.”

Ricky played Arthur ‘Fatboy’ Chubb until he was dramatically killed in a car crash in 2015.

Lou Sanders

Comedian and writer Lou Sanders was the eighth celebrity confirmed to be taking part in the new series of Dancing on Ice.

She may be one of the least known stars in the line-up, but says ITV's long-running answer to Strictly was her "dream thing to do".

Revealing the news exclusively to Nihal Arthanayake on Radio Five Live today, Lou said: “I’m nervous about cracking my head open, or just bashing the old head.

"I can’t afford to lose any more brain cells.  I’m also worried about my partner picking me up, he’s going to have to be very strong and very brave.”

Lou is best known for appearing on shows including Mock The Week and 8 Out Of 10 Cats Does Countdown

Greg Rutherford

Long jump star Greg Rutherford has leapt into second-favourite in the Dancing on Ice betting odds – before he's even been on the ice.

The Olympian – who won gold in 2020 – has excitedly told fans he aims to perform a trick that's "never been done before" on the show.

Greg said: "My kids love dancing around so hopefully they are going to enjoy watching me dance with blades on my feet!

"I think this is going to be a really different experience but one that will be quite exciting.

"I like a challenge and I needed a reason to go out and do stuff again and here we are.

"I want to perform something that's never been done before, that's my aim.

"I'll go 100,000% on this. I'll try hard, I'm in no way expecting to be good but I will work as hard as I can."

Amber Davies

Self-confessed adrenaline-junkie Amber Davies will take a break from entertaining theatre-goers to star in Dancing on Ice.

The 27-year-old – who's already the bookies' favourite – gushed: "Younger me would never believe this!"

Since winning Love Island in 2017 alongside then-boyfriend Kem Cetinay, Amber has fulfilled her dream of becoming an actress.

She's worked with country music legend Dolly Parton who gave her tips when she made her stage debut in the cast of 9 to 5: The Musical.

Amber has put playing Vivian Ward in Pretty Woman: The Musical on hold while she goes into training for Dancing on Ice next year.

Announcing the news, Amber said: “I would definitely say that I'm an adrenaline junkie but I do get more nervous as I get older and I hope that I can contain them, I don't want the adrenaline to get the better of me."

She added: "I can count on one hand how many times I've ice skated."

Stephen Lustig-Webb

Professional couch potato Stephen Lustig-Webb is used to watching celebs compete in the country's biggest reality TV shows – but now he's one of them.

The 52-year-old quit Gogglebox last month to pursue something new.

He's now set to learn how to skate in front of the nation, when the series kicks off in January.

Stephen said: "I wanted a new challenge and they don’t come much bigger than this!

"DANCING ON ICE. Excited to get my skates on and be part of this amazing show."

Miles Nazaire

He's known as a heartbreaker on Made in Chelsea – now Miles Nazaire has the chance to show off a new side to himself to a live audience on Saturday nights.

After hitting the headlines for the wrong reasons, the controversial reality star is turning the page with his latest adventure.

“I’ve always loved to dance, but it’s usually on a dance floor on a Saturday night and Dancing On Ice looks so difficult," Miles said.

"I keep thinking about how I’m going to need to have rhythm while balancing on a thin blade and that's when I feel the nerves kick in, but this is such an unbelievable opportunity to get totally out of my comfort zone.”

Adele Roberts

Radio 1 DJ Adele Roberts faced the biggest challenge of her life when she was diagnosed with bowel cancer two years ago.

Now the host is celebrating her survival by signing up to Dancing on Ice.

Adele was diagnosed with bowel cancer two years ago and said she was "very lucky" to be "fit enough and well enough to do it."

With her new lease of life, the former I'm A Celebrity star is learning to skate.

Adele said: “It's ‘bricking it on ice’ for me! I think the hardest part is putting myself out there as I usually hide away.

"I did radio as it's not visual. That’s going to be a big challenge. After cancer I have my life back; I actually can’t wait for the glam!”

Roxy Shahidi

Soap star Roxy Shahidi, who has played Leyla Harding in Emmerdale since 2008, is thought to be in the full line-up, which has not yet been confirmed.

A source close to the actress – who is also a qualified yoga instructor – called her the "perfect choice" for the show.

They told The Sun: “ITV always want their big soap stars on Dancing On Ice, and Roxy is who they are after from Emmerdale this year.

"She’s the perfect choice – she’s been in the soap on and off for 15 years, so she is very familiar to audiences who already have a connection with her, and she’s absolutely stunning to boot, which always helps.”

Ryan Thomas

Former Coronation Street legend Ryan is expecting to be the final name in the line-up for 2024.

The 39 year old is engaged to Towie’s Lucy Mecklenburgh, 32, and left his role as Jason Grimshaw in 2016.

His brother Adam is currently competing on Strictly Come Dancing.
