Dani Dyer's nan insists she hasn't split from Jack – just hours after they confirm it

Her grandmother Christine Dyer took to Twitter to insist the pair are just "too busy" to "live in each other's pockets".

The Love Island star, 22, confirmed the split news on her Instagram page last night, confirming she and Jack have parted ways just four months after leaving the villa.

However, it appeared that Dani has yet to tell her nan because after the story broke, Chris took to Twitter to insist the pair are still together.

She wrote: "Oh do f*** off. They have not split up at all. They are both really busy and don’t have to live in each other’s pockets…"

Her message left fans seriously confused and the swamped Chris' page with tweets asking whether the couple were giving their doomed romance another go.

One wrote: "I'm so confused now because this is what Dani had posted on here instagram story. I hope they haven't though."

Another added: "Chrissie have they got back together xx…"

A third tweeted: "So they haven’t split, im really confused xx."

Last night, Dani stunned her followers by confirmed the romance was over in a statement posted on Instagram shortly after The Sun Online broke the story.

The Sun Online has since revealed she dumped Jack after deciding enough was enough following a series of rows.

He knew things weren't going well but was convinced they could make it work.

A source told us: "Dani may have said this was a mutual decision, but that's not the case. She ended it.

"He felt they could have made it work, but she showed a hard side and called time on the relationship."

Dani called it quits with the pen salesman just four months after leaving the Love Island villa, saying it wasn't meant to be long term.

In her statement, which has since been deleted, Dani wrote: "Jack and I have sadly decided to part ways. It's been an incredible six months and we will always have a place in our hearts for each other, but we've sadly come to the realisation that it's not meant to be long term.

"We both plan to stay friends. I hope you'll all understand. Love Dani x."

A source exclusively told us how the demands of life after the villa made it difficult for the pair to go on.

The insider said: "When they left the villa they really thought they would stay together forever, but reality soon set in and things started to get strained.

"They came out to a whirlwind of publicity and after a while things started to get to them and the cracks appeared.

"They are both incredibly busy and they have decided to call time on their romance."

Awkwardly, the pair's announcement comes the same day as a new trailer for Love Island's Christmas Reunion in which they play the happy couple sharing presents and dancing.

They are also due to host the National Television Awards together in January, but The Sun Online has confirmed they still plan on doing the gig despite the split.
