EastEnders addresses absence of Cindy's fourth daughter in return story

Ever since Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins) made a shocking return to EastEnders in special episodes set in France, fans have been wondering if this could lead to a return for her daughter, Cindy Jr.

Unfortunately, that doesn’t seem to be on the cards just yet, and EastEnders has revealed the reason why.

After returning to Albert Square, Cindy made a beeline for No.45, where she came face to face with nemesis Kathy Beale (Gillian Taylforth), and their meeting went about as well as could be expected.

And by that, we of course mean that they knocked seven bells out of each other, and we enjoyed every second.

However, their catfight led to a picture of Lucy Beale being smashed, and that was enough to set their priorities straight.

The pair began to lament over how they weren’t their for Lucy before her murder, having both pretended to be dead for a considerable amount of time.

It was then that the topic of conversation turned to one of Cindy’s other daughters, Cindy Jr, as she asked Kathy if they had kept in contact.

Kathy revealed that she sent Christmas cards every year, but she hadn’t heard back, though Ricky Butcher (Sid Owen), who also lives in Germany, insists that Cindy Jr is doing fine.

When Kathy asked if Cindy had been in touch with her, she revealed that she wanted to, but felt like she didn’t have the right, having never properly got to know Cindy Jr.

But could that be set to change?

With Cindy and Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt) set to make a permanent return to Albert Square alongside son Peter (Thomas Law), could Cindy decide to reach out to her estranged daughter, sending her running back to Walford?

EastEnders continues Tuesday August 29 at 7:30pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
