EastEnders: Lola dies
EastEnders’ Jay Brown (played by Jamie Borthwick) will soon be involved in a “dark” storyline.
Jay only lost Lola Pearce (Danielle Harold) a few months ago and is still very much grieving.
Fans of the BBC soap will have seen how Jay has found comfort in a new friend and Lola’s look-alike, Nadine (Jazzy Phoenix).
However, it seems she might not be the best influence of the Walford favourite.
“Jay does go to one or two dark places,” Jamie told OK!

Speaking to the publication at the recent Inside Soap Awards, the actor continued: “After Lola’s death, it got a bit quiet for me in particular, we weren’t seeing how things were evolving.”
Co-star Max Bowden, who plays Jay’s close pal Ben Mitchell, added: “That’s the beauty of the story.
“What’s great now is watching each character’s story unfold.
“Post-grief, people handle things differently and there’s hypocrisy that comes with that.

“We know that happens in real life, and that’s what the writers have done really well.”
Ben has also only recently faced up to a struggle that hit him when he found out Lola, the mother of his child, was dying.
He developed a devastating eating disorder and only sought help a few weeks ago.
While he’s now getting support from those around him, his condition almost went unnoticed.
Will Jay also continue to suffer in silence?
Sonia Fowler (Natalie Cassidy) approached Jay recently urging him to speak to someone about his grief, but he insisted he didn’t need to.
Now that Nadine is in his life, Jay seems to think he’s found some kind of outlet where he can escape his pain, but this may end up causing more trouble for him.
Will Jay’s family and friends recognise the beloved resident needs some help?
Hopefully, his coping mechanisms won’t impact on school girl Lexi Pearce (Isabella Bown), who is also grieving the loss of her mother.
Will Jay allow his distractions to cause him to take a backseat in his responsibilities to Lexi?
EastEnders continues on Tuesday at 7.30pm on BBC One.
