EastEnders star Jamie Borthwick has confirmed he has become an uncle.

The actor, who plays Jay Brown in the BBC One soap, revealed that his sister had given birth in a sweet new Instagram post.

Jamie shared a picture of him holding the new-born and wrote alongside: ‘She don’t know how lucky she is I’m her uncle! … Nahh I don’t know how lucky I am she’s my Niece ❤️ welcome to the family RSC! We’re gonna have some laughs kid I tell ya!’.

The star received plenty of wonderful comments on the post, with followers sharing their reactions to becoming and auntie or uncle for the first time, while many of Jamie’s EastEnders co-stars wrote messages calling him ‘Uncle Jamie’.

So lovely!

Over in EastEnders, Jay is continuing to grieve and attempt to move forward after the death of wife Lola Pearce (Danielle Harold).

Lola was diagnosed with a brain tumour and died in May. Since then, Jay, Ben (Max Bowden) and Callum (Tony Clay) have rallied round to support young Lexi (Isabella Brown) and recently, Jay found himself a new friend.

Jay met Nadine (Jazzy Phoenix) and was taken aback to realise how much she looked like Lola.

They spent time together but when Nadine attempted to kiss him, Jay said that he wasn’t in a position to move on.

Nadine – who works as an escort – then told Jay he could spent the night and return to Walford the next day, preventing his family from seeing him in such a drunken state.
