THE Dales have been shaken by loss in recent weeks after a deadly storm ripped through the village.
Yet one Emmerdale resident was spared from all the turmoil, leaving soap fans wondering if they were still part of the ITV program.
Has Suzy Merton left the eponymous village?
One viewer recently took to a Digital Spy forum demanding to know where the character was.
As they pointed out, actress Martelle Edinborough seemingly vanished from their screens without warning or explanation.
"Sure I haven't seen her for ages, but I'm sure she was mentioned this week", the viewer penned, prompting others to wonder where Vanessa Woodfield's partner was.

"She popped up somewhere in the last fortnight or so, said one sentence with faux credibility, and disappeared again", one cynical soap fan responded.
They then pointed out that Vanessa actress Michelle Hardwick should be leaving Emmerdale to go on maternity leave.
"Don't know if Vanessa has left for maternity leave yet, but she hasn't been in it for a while, I suppose her role ties in with her more than anyone else."
One viewer added: "She wasn't there for the funeral that featured the whole cast either" while another recalled: "She and Matty made their peace the other week but I don't recall seeing her since."

However, according to another fan, Suzy is only keeping a low profile.
"They do just have villagers disappear sometimes for no good reason", they wrote.
"You would think that around the storm situation and the aftermath that the whole cast would be involved to some degree."
Suzy was first introduced to viewers earlier in 2022 when she appeared out of nowhere and walked into the path of Vanessa's reversing car.
Although their first encounter didn't go well, both women eventually took a liking to each other.
Since then, Suzy was exposed for her cocaine use and her involvement in Holly Barton's death.

Suzy was also involved in Leyla Cavanagh's drug addiction storyline before the wedding planner was forced to seek help after an overdose.
Meanwhile, villagers are recovering from the devastation left by the storm.
As teased by soap bosses ahead of Emmerdale's fiftieth anniversary, multiple residents lost their lives, leaving their nearest and dearest to pick up the pieces.
