Emmerdale fans ‘uncover’ Debbie Dingle death twist as Meena escapes to Scotland

Emmerdale fans watched in utter disbelief last night (Thursday 13 January) as evil murderer Meena Jutla (Paige Sandhu) escaped the village without facing the consequences for her horrific crimes.

After a very dramatic instalment of the show where Dr Liam Cavanagh finally confronted Meena about her lies, she managed to escape in the chaos and flee.

Viewers of the ITV soap then watched as she hitched a ride in a lorry, claiming she’d had a row with her boyfriend.

As the driver told Meena he was heading in the direction of Glasgow, the nurse shocked fans further by pretending to be her sister Manpreet Sharma (Rebecca Sarker).

But now eagle-eyed viewers have picked up on a subtle hint, claiming Meena could soon bump into Debbie Dingle (Charley Webb) in Scotland – and that she should watch her back.

The armchair detectives took to social media to share their theories about how Debbie, who now lives in Glasgow after leaving the village, should watch her back.

After the chilling scenes aired, one wrote on Twitter: “She’s off to Scotland. Watch out Debbie Dingle.”

A second also picked up on the reference, saying: “I never thought of this, I should have when the truck driver said next stop is Scotland.”

“It wouldn’t surprise me and that’s one way of getting rid of Debbie,” they continued.

Meanwhile, a third put forward their views, questioning: “Emmerdale maybe Meena is gonna kill Debbie and that’s how she’s permanently leaving.”

This comes after Emmerdale bosses promised plenty more twists and turns before Meena faces her “judgement day”.

The soap’s Executive Producers Jane Hudson and Laura Shaw recently teased details of the villain’s anticipated downfall, revealing it won’t be predictable in any way and will keep viewers gripped until the end.

Speaking to OK! and other press outlets, they said: “Well, I think it's fair to say that judgement day for Meena is coming.”

“Whether she'll get away with murder or not, you're going to have to wait and find out.”

However, the pair also revealed that it wouldn’t be smooth-sailing and many parts of the story would shock fans tuning in at home.

The bosses went on to explain” “There are still some more twists and turns to be had in this story – some that you probably won't see coming.”

“I think we're all agreed that Meena can do pretty much anything, but yes, judgement day is coming and it won't play out quite as you expect.”

“There will be a lasting effect on a lot of our villagers. [But] within the next few months, Meena will get what’s coming to her.”
