Samson Dingle (played by Sam Hall) has not taken well to fatherhood in Emmerdale. The frustrated youngster has been making Amelia Spencer’s (Daisy Campbell) life a misery following the birth of their daughter Esther on the ITV soap. After struggling to bond with the baby girl on Tuesday’s instalment of the serial drama, viewers believe Esther will be given up for adoption.

During the latest episode, Amelia vented to Samson about how difficult parenting is.

“I feel like everything I am doing is wrong,” she said. “She needs feeding all the time and it takes her ages.”

Amelia added: “It all feels a little too much and she’s only just got home. It just feels scary, like I am going to mess up and she deserves someone better.”

Samson did not offer Amelia any kind words of support as she voiced her doubts about her parenting abilities which caused viewers to take to Twitter with their theories about the baby’s future.

Jamal said: “Seeing Amelia not being able to cope, has brightened up Samson’s world. From that smirk on his face, you can tell he will be up to something. #emmerdale.”

@Cocacolakid63 added: “Samson is not being selfish at all there! Trying to get her to give up the baby. So selfish. #Emmerdale.”

Helen Louise Deakin remarked: “Samson’s eager to get rid of Esther. #emmerdale.”

@Cupcakecouture remarked: “I don’t suppose Samson is planning on putting the baby up for adoption?”

Ryan commented: “Samson’s major personality transplant is so annoying. He doesn’t even want to spend some time with his daughter.”

Elsewhere in the episode, Kerry Wyatt (Laura Norton) came across as understanding when Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter) explained she needed to attend Liv Flaherty’s (Isobel Steele) send-off instead of Al Chapman’s (Michael Wildman) funeral.

Kerry, who was engaged to Al, told Chas: “You go and give your girl the send-off she deserves and we will do the same with Al surrounded by everyone that loves them.”

As Mandy Dingle (Lisa Riley) and Vinny Dingle (Bradley Johnson) gathered outside the village with Liv’s urn, he told his family he wanted to set his late wife free.

He picked up her urn and went to scatter her ashes when Chas left the service after breaking down in tears.

As Vinny was about to add a silver ring to the urn, his dog lept up at the table it was placed on and Mandy accidentally tipped the ashes over Vinny as she tried to save it.

The Dingles looked on in horror before Vinny started giggling as he saw the funny side of the incident.

“Oh I should laugh for days about this,” Vinny said as Mandy started chuckling.

Later on, Chas was left wracked with grief and pushed her husband Paddy Kirk (Dominic Brunt) away as he tried to comfort her.

He was convinced she was just grieving for Liv and still has no idea about her affair with Al.

Will guilt soon push Chas into telling her husband the truth about her adultery?

Meanwhile, her brother Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley), who is in jail for Al’s murder, discovered his wife Moira Barton (Natalie J Robb) had run off to Scotland while his sentencing awaits.

Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV.
