Emmerdale star Kevin Mathurin paid tribute to co-star Eddie Osei following his sudden and shocking exit from the show.
Eddie, as viewers know, played newcomer Victor, the father of vicar Charles Anderson, who was introduced only a number of months ago.
Victor was released from jail, with a shock plot twist confirming that Charles had failed to provide him with an alibi years earlier, which resulted in his imprisonment.
The convicted criminal, who was living with a brain aneurysm, was determined to win back Claudette’s (Flo Wilson) affection, much to the dismay of Charles, who was adamant that his father hadn’t changed at all.
But things took a shocking turn on Tuesday (August 29), with Manpreet Sharma’s (Rebecca Sarker) necklace, which was given to her by Rishi Sharma (Bhasker Patel), ending up in Victor’s possession.
Horrified by the events which unfolded, Victor made a swift departure, with Charles later finding him at St Mary’s church. But a further shock revealed that the character had died.
‘Not my Victor!’, exclaimed a devastated Claudette, as she sobbed in Charles’ arms over the death of her beloved husband.
In the wake of the scenes in question, Kevin – who has played Charles for almost three years – took to social media to bid a fond farewell to Victor star Eddie.
‘Last night saw the end of Victor played by the wonderful soul that is Eddie Osei,’ he wrote on Instagram.

‘Thank you so much, Eddie, for bringing so much joy to the set. You played Victor so well, I will always remember how much you made me laugh at how dastardly he really was.
‘You are a great guy and deeply missed by The Andersons.’
Fans were quick to comment, with one writing: ‘Ahhhhhhh gonna miss another great actor.
Another added: ‘broke my heart last night. I thought it was wonderful bringing in Charles’s Dad. There was so much scope for him.’
Emmerdale continues Wednesday August 30 at 7:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
