HBO teen drama Euphoria just won its first Emmy as Zendaya took home the award for best actress in a drama. Fans were overjoyed for the star and some have been left wondering when the second season will be released. Here’s everything revealed so far about this, including the potential cast, release date, trailer and plot.
When is the new series of Euphora out?
HBO has not revealed the release date for Euphoria season two yet but fans were hopeful it would be out this summer.
Season one began airing on June 2019 before dropping on Sky Atlantic in August 2019.
However, as with many other shows, the series has been delayed by coronavirus COVID-19.
Production began in early March but it was forced to shutdown when the virus became widespread.
The show does look set to start filming again soon as Zendaya posted an image of Rue’s sneakers on Instagram on August 29 with the caption “hello old friends.”
Express.co.uk will update this article as soon as an official release date is confirmed.
Who is in the cast of Euphoria season 2?
Zenday was revealed to be returning in the official season two announcement, which read: “Euphoria creator Sam Levinson has built an incredible world with an extraordinary cast led by the supremely talented Zendaya.”
She will be returning alongside Sydney Sweeney (who plays Cassie Howard), Jacob Elordi (Nate Jacobs) and Hunter Schafer (Jules Vaughan).
Also likely to return to the Euphoria season two cast are Maude Apatow, Angus Cloud and Eric Dane.
However, fans should expect some new introductions as well when it is released.
What will happen in Euphoria season 2?
No plot details have been revealed for Euphoria season two by HBO yet.
However, the first season ended on a dramatic cliffhanger, which fans are hoping will be resolved.
Rue and Jules had been planning to run away together before Rue decided to stay in town.
Then the series ended with Rue entering a drug-induced hallucination, which fans thought she implied she was either relapsing or even dead.
Therefore, there is a lot to be answered when the show finally returns to screens.
