When Big Brother first returned to our screens last month after a five year absence, viewers at home were delighted to once again be introduced to a new batch of contestants who would be duking it out for a coveted cash prize.
But while drama and intrigue were to be expected as several distinctive personalities clashed, one thing many fans hadn’t anticipated was a love triangle forming between three of the show’s contestants Matty, Jordan and Henry.
For weeks fans have enjoyed a “will-they-won’t-they” romance unfolding between 25 year old food writer Henry and 25 year old lawyer Jordan, however it appears a spanner was soon thrown into the works of any blossoming romance, as 24 year old doctor Matty also revealed he had eyes for Jordan too.
So what exactly is the story between the three?
Early attraction
On the very first day of the competition, Henry and Jordan seemed to be immediately drawn towards each other and struck up a strong friendship which has only continued to deepen, week after week.
The duo began to hang out more together while in the house, with several sweet moments captured on camera of the pair relaxing and sharing jokes or animated conversations together – something which showed a clear ease to be around each other.
However, while initially only a friendship, eagle eyed fans began to suspect that deeper feelings could be brewing between the pair after Jordan affectionately referred to Henry as his “husband” in one of the challenges.
The moment in question took place in the episode that aired on 17 October, where the cast were all camping outside, and Matty was spotted attempting to flirtatiously play with Jordan’s leg, only for the star to reprimand him by saying: "Not in front of my husband!"
Confused by the moment, Matty then asked Jordan who his husband was, prompting him to quietly point at Henry.
The pair then went on to joke that they were married, constantly cheated on each other and even had two children stashed away named Tarquin and Harlequin!
First kiss
Although the flirtation was obvious, the couple never acted on their attraction until 24 October, when Henry and Jordan shared their very first kiss.
The sweet moment came as the pair were lying on each other when the Big Brother lights went out in the bedroom signalling it was bedtime.
As they hugged each other goodnight, Jordan said: "We can't kiss on camera, sorry.”
Henry replied: "Goodnight my love,” before the couple laughed together and kissed twice.
Matty love triangle twist
Although things appeared to be going well for Henry and Jordan, there was another unexpected twist in the tale when it appeared that Matty was still very interested in Jordan, despite having seen the clear flirtation between the pair.
Just as he had done previously while playing with Jordan’s leg, Matty continued to showcase tactile intimacy with Jordan while cuddling up to him on several occasions, often with a fair amount of flirty conversation included.
Interestingly, Matty currently also has a partner waiting for him outside of the Big Brother house, but did reveal that the pair are in an open relationship and so he is free to pursue romance with other people.
Jordan's response to the triangle
Despite Matty's clear interest in Jordan, fans don’t have too much to worry about, as Jordan made his feelings on the subject very clear during an episode on 29 October.
During the episode, Henry and Jordan snuck away from dinner with their housemates to hide underneath the table where they shared a romantic kiss together, before discussing their respective types and ideal wants from a relationship.
This lead to Jordan explaining that Matty isn’t actually his type, but he did confess that he enjoyed having conversations with him.
"I think Matty hasn’t met someone like you before," Henry said. "It's weird with him,” Jordan then replied. “Because he’s in a relationship but sometimes I sense he’s being a bit too overfamiliar.
He then clarified: "And the thing is, I don’t find him attractive at all, he is totally not my type, but his eyes are nice and I like how he is engaged in a conversation.”
And if that wasn’t confirmation enough, Jordan then ended their chat by declaring: “My husband is here” and touched Henry on the shoulder.
Later on in the same episode, housemate Olivia even directly asked the duo if they would consider becoming a couple in the future as she said: "You would never actually get together would you?".
Without missing a beat Jordan then replied: ”Of course we would.”
Unwilling to let the subject drop, Olivia then asked the pair if they fancied each other, prompting Jordan to publicly kiss Henry on the forehead in response.
Will they decide to take the plunge and become a couple for real?
