When the first part of Lupin launched on Netflix back in January, it smashed the streaming giant’s figures and fans have been eagerly awaiting part two ever since.

Luckily for them, the agonising wait is now over as the French drama’s second installment is available on Netflix as of today.

Once again, the brand new five episodes star leading man Omar Sy, who returns as Assane Diop. But what’s in store after last series’ dramatic cliffhanger?

If the dramatic trailer released earlier this year is anything to go by, there’s plenty of action that will leave viewers on the edge of their seats as the action picks up from exactly where it left off.

Assane is still trying to expose the crimes of the Pellegrini family, after his dad was framed by them for a crime he didn’t commit 25 years ago.

But, as we saw, the Pellegrini clan are now onto him, so this time Assane is desperately searching for his son Raoul (played by Etan Simon) after he was kidnapped by Leonard (Adam Niane) because Assane had had him arrested.

Pushed into a corner with his son’s safety at risk, Assane needs to act fast and find allies. But will he be able to get to his son in time?

Early reviews suggest plenty of tension and incredible fight sequences as he tries to track Raoul down.

And, once again, French star Omar is set to steal the show as the charismatic Assane.

Recently opening up about why he loves stepping into his shoes, Omar said: “For me Lupin is just the best character for an actor because the motion is always moving.”

He continued: “You can experience every theme, of course you have the drama, the romance, the action, everything like that. And experience the fatherhood, the revenge, all of that.”

“It's so rich with everything we can talk about and the way we can do it, it's just the best. It's the perfect toy for me, it's the dream character.”

The previous installment of Lupin racked up a jaw-dropping 70 million views in its first 28 days.

That impressive statistic meant it became one of the most watched series of the year, beating the likes of mega hit shows like Bridgerton and The Queen’s Gambit.
