First Dates hopeful opens up about his terminal cancer diagnosis and inspires viewers

First Dates viewers were left truly inspired on Monday night (December 3) after one of the love-searching hopefuls opened up about his terminal cancer diagnosis.

Julian Fiano, 29, was tragically diagnosed with a brain tumour that he says should have ended his life already.

During his date with property consultant Becca Wilson, Julian said that his tumour is inoperable and that he may only have months to live – which left viewers touched.

The Brain Tumour Charity’s official Twitter account posted: “Glued to the TV as @j_fiano opens up about his terminal diagnosis & his changed attitude towards life. Inspiring.”

One inspired viewer wrote: “This guy on #FirstDates wow… is dealing with his cancer in a way that we’d all hope to deal with it …. brave!”

While another added: “Cancer. Wow! That guy is some boy….. battling terminal cancer like a boss #stillsmilling.”

Julian’s date Becca said: “I had no idea of Julian’s ill health until the cameras were rolling. When he told me, my whole tummy did a back-flip.

“I was gutted for him. I’ve had bad experiences with family members who’ve had cancer, and my first thought was: I hate this cruel disease. I hate what it does to people, and I hate what it’s doing to you.”

First Dates continues next Monday night (December 10) at 10pm on Channel 4.
