Game Of Thrones stars Maisie Williams and Lena Headey to appear in Freya Ridings' video clip for new single

Like her fellow redhead, she has close ties with blockbuster TV series Game Of Thrones – and has secured lead stars Maisie Williams and Lena Headey to appear in her latest music video.

I can reveal the pair will feature in the clip for new single You Mean The World To Me, out March 1, and produced by Adele’s sometime collaborator Greg Kurstin.

I met the North Londoner recently and was so impressed with how she ignored silly advice from various industry bosses who wanted her to change her hair colour and ditch her surname.

In an exclusive interview, she explains: “They were like,‘Being a red head isn’t cool, having your second name isn’t cool’ and I said to them, ‘I’m going to be who I am and I’m not going to move off of that’.”

Freya has no problem with not being considered cool. The star, whose actor dad Richard voices character Daddy Pig in animated series Peppa Pig, knew she was different to other students at school.

She became isolated, as she just didn’t fit in with any social groups – even at the famous Brit School for performers.

She was also heavily dyslexic, which resulted in her being home-schooled for two years by her mother. But heartache surrounding her school days inspired her love of ballads.

Freya, 24, adds: “It was such a lonely time in my life but it meant I had to turn to the piano to tell the stories you would normally tell to a friend.

“At the time it was dark but it’s become the anchor that has got me through the stormiest times of my life and I’m so, so grateful for it.”

Now her music is helping millions of others to get through their own dark times.

Mark my words, she’s a superstar in waiting.
