GB News: John Cleese opens first episode of ‘The Dinosaur Hour’
GB News fans were divided as some admitted to “turning” over from the channel over John Cleese’s new programme, The Dinosaur Hour.
The Fawlty Towers star made his GB News debut on Sunday as he launched the programme, which he stated was aimed at the “out of touch”.
The 84-year-old dedicated much of the episode to distrust in the press and chatted with several guests on the topic.
However, the opening show drew a mixed response from viewers.
Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, @MarkRossdog wrote: “Watched about 10 minutes. Seems to be a vehicle for Cleese to continue his crusade against the press. Just turned over and [they’re] still on it.”

@philrees2010 added: “@GBNEWS Anyone else watching this 9pm John Cleese show? Can’t put my finger on it but I had a feeling it wasn’t going to be great, but never thought it’d be as bad as this. A tall bloke with a pot belly indulging a well known bee in his bonnet against the British press!”
@daretod23168263 commented: “I wish them well but it’s not my cup of tea.”
However, others applauded the show, with @sparkitup75 sharing: “Great show, enjoyable and informative. Please keep it going.”
“20 minutes in, I’m hooked. Brilliant GBNews,” @Susanatha3 posted.

@wildatlanticbro added: “#TheDinosaurHour on #GBNews already is one of the best ever political shows I’ve ever seen. And John Cleese isn’t even a journalist. Or is he? he might have studied it at Uni. Well done Basil.”
John has been promoting his new show for months, but on Saturday seemed to criticise his new employer over the announcement that former Prime Minster Boris Johnson has also been given a show.
The day before his show debut, John retweeted a comment about Johnson joining the channel and added: “I can hardly believe that GB News will give this proven serial liar his own programme.”
Johnson is the latest Conservative politician to take a job at the broadcaster, which he announced in a video on X.
The 59-year-old explained: “I’m excited to say that I’m shortly going to be joining you on GB News, and I’m going to be giving this remarkable new TV channel my unvarnished views on everything from Russia, China, the war in Ukraine, how we meet all those challenges, to the huge opportunities that lie ahead for us – why I think our best days are yet to come – and why on the whole the people of the world want to see more global Britain, not less”.
The Dinosaur Hour will air on Sundays from 9pm on GB News.
