Hit Channel 4 reality show Gogglebox has been in a major scheduling shake-up, with news which will affect the 2022 series.
The 2021 series only ended earlier this month, with fans devastated that they'll be missing their weekly fix of comedy, banter and surprisingly emotional moments.
But now, fan favourite star Stephen Webb has announced the show will return earlier than expected in 2022, with a Gogglebox Christmas Festive Special that will air on January 2 – delighting fans across the country.
In the standalone Christmas episode, fans will be able to see the cast of Gogglebox watch Jamie: Together at Christmas, Love Actually, James Bond flick No Time to Die and a whole lot more.
Announcing the show on Instagram, Stephen said: "Gogglebox Festive Special will air January 2nd at 9 pm on Channel 4 and will feature Jamie: Together at Christmas, Love Actually, James Bond No Time to Die and more!
Stephen added: "A festive gift to Gogglebox fans!"
It didn't take long until Gogglebox fans shared their excitement for the special episode.
One fan said: "Really looking forward to this, best programme on TV."
Whilst another expressed: "Can't wait to see this, you guys are so funny."
And a third added: "This is the best Christmas present."
The Brighton-based hairdresser and funny man, stars in the show with his partner Daniel Lustig.
Other Gogglebox stars teased to appear in the Festive Special include Pete and Sophie Sandiford, Giles and Mary, Jenny and Lee, the Siddiqui family, the Malone family, and the Baggs family.
Season 18 of the show came to a close just a few weeks ago at the start of December.
After filming for the latest series, Gogglebox icons Jenny and Lee wished their fans an emotional goodbye on Instagram.
The pair had thanked their fans for all their support during series 18, sharing a heartfelt message on their joint Insta page.
In the video, Lee said: "As you can see, we are on our last filming day today."
"I would just like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. It has been lovely coming to your living rooms every week."
