Good Morning Britain viewers were in fits as guest John Cleese told Ed Balls to "shut up".
The Fawlty Towers star was interviewed by Ed and his co-host Susanna Reid when he went on the ITV programme to talk about his GB News show and other projects. But at one point he struggled to get a word in as Ed fired off question after question.
John said that GB News "made me the best offer anyone has ever made anyone in television" in that they offered him lots of control over the shows he did. But Ed interrupted to quip that John was the only presenter joining the channel rather than leaving at the moment.

"Well they are clearing out a certain amount, which is not a bad idea," John said. Ed then chimed in again before the TV star had finished responding to a question and John, 83, asked: "Will you shut up?"
The trio all started to laugh and Susanna agreed: "Well, um, yeah!" She went on: "You are asking a question and then talking over the answer."
Laughing, John joked that Ed needed to let him know which question he would actually like him to answer. Ed teased that it was "what us interviewers do". But John reminded him: "Yes I know, I've done quite a few."
Viewers were tickled by the whole thing, with one posting a crying with laughter emoji on X, which was formerly Twitter, and writing: "Will you shut up?" Someone else joked: "Cleese saying what we all want to, shut up Ed."
Another viewer wrote: "Rather enjoyable Ed Balls being told to shut up. He blurted out his (pointless) thoughts over the top @JohnCleese answering."
One fan admitted they found it "irritating". Referring to Ed, they posted: "At a couple of points he tried to talk down Cleese while the guest was trying to answer the previous question."
"John Cleese is great, Ed Balls and Susanna’s face when John told Ed to shut up haha," said another viewer.
Good Morning Britain airs weekdays at 6am on ITV
