Jean-Claude Van Damme told not to discuss whisky on GMB
Good Morning Britain presenters were left confused and laughing at Kate Garraway and Ben Shephard’s interview with Jean-Claude Van Damme and branded it a car crash.
Welcoming Van Damme to the show, Ben asked how he had recently celebrated his 63rd birthday.
The movie star chuckled and held up a whole bottle of whiskey to the camera, noting that he had had enough to keep him going from the birthday celebrations.
Laughing, Ben advised Van Damme to leave the alcohol back on the floor out of view from the camera, before going on to interview him.
Taking to their Twitter accounts, formerly known as X, many fans commented on how “messy” the beginning of the interview seemed and branded it a “car crash”.

At the end of the interview, Ben asked what Van Damme was working on at the moment, and he revealed he was writing a script for a new martial arts film, but it would be his last.
Seizing the moment, Ben expressed his interest and told Van Damme that if he needed a UK correspondent who was also a journalist he knew two people who would be up for the job, referencing himself and Kate.
Excited by the idea, Kate jumped in and said: “Or even just as an extra, in the background, maybe in a cafe or something.”
