'Home Town': The 1 Outdoor Decor Piece Erin and Ben Napier Can't Live Without

Home Town stars Erin and Ben Napier have found a place for themselves in Laurel, Mississippi. The two began starring in their own HGTV show back in 2017, and they’ve quickly become fan favorites on the network.

The couple’s design style encompasses southern comfort with on-trend pieces that provide a warm, homey feeling. And when it comes to outdoor décor, there’s one piece Erin and Ben — but especially Ben — can’t live without.

Erin and Ben Napier have redefined home remodeling

When Home Town first premiered on HGTV, fans couldn’t help but liken the couple to Chip and Joanna Gaines, who formerly starred on the network’s popular show Fixer Upper. However, fans quickly realized that Erin and Ben brought a sense of style that differed from anyone else on HGTV.

Erin and Ben love pops of color in the homes they decorate — starting with the walls. The two are fans of patterned wallpaper, which draws the eye in from the moment anyone steps through the front door. The two keep southern charm in their style — though Erin once said that some have described her style as maximalist, she prefers to call it “real life.”

The ‘Home Town’ stars can’t live without a porch swing

Erin and Ben have decorated and remodeled plenty of homes throughout their careers. And with each passing design renovation, fans have noticed certain items the couple tend to include in their renovations: Colored cabinets, built-ins, and of course, the patterned wallpaper — just to name a few. But something on the outside of the home that Erin and Ben always include (should the space allow) is a front porch swing.

“I will not rest until every home in Laurel has a porch swing,” Ben said in a season 5 episode of Home Town.

It turns out porch swings have always been something the couple loves. Back in 2018, Ben posted an Instagram photo revealing that the porch swing at his own home is “one of the best pieces I’ve ever designed.”

“Designed to hang from 4 ropes, it drifts more than it swings,” Napier said of the piece. He also gave a detailed explanation of how he built it, adding that the swing’s top is the most “intricate” part of the whole piece. “It’s wide enough for a glass of sweet tea,” he added.

HGTV’s Erin and Ben Napier are preparing to welcome another baby

Ben and Erin might love remodeling strangers’ homes, but they’ve put plenty of work into their own home, too, as seen by Ben’s porch swing. Now, though, the two are preparing their home for another new addition. Erin and Ben announced that they’re expecting another daughter in May 2021 — the little girl is due any day. In April, Erin and Ben announced that Erin was eight months along with their second child.

“Just like Helen did, her little sister has made it easy to keep her secret by being tiny even now, and I’m deeply thankful that we’ve had almost 8 months of keeping this our news just for our family and close friends,” Erin wrote on Instagram.
