A HUGE star has revealed she's turned down Strictly 'several times' as she praised Angela Rippon's performances.

Joan Collins has said she's rejected multiple offers from bosses on the dancing competition over they years.


The actress, 90, best known for her role in Dynasty, was speaking as she heaped praise on Angela Rippon.

Angela is the oldest celebrity to take part in Strictly at the age of 78 and wowed with her incredible vertical leg lift last week.

Speaking about her performances, Joan said: "I did see it. I am a huge fan of Strictly and I thought it was amazing."

When asked if she would ever take to the ballroom, Collins told BBC Radio 4 Woman's House: "Are you kidding? No way! I've been asked to do it several times."

Angela, who turns 79 this month, previously revealed her Strictly game plan after showing off her impressive leg work.

She said: “I look at the younger people and I know I’m not as fit or strong, that’s just a medical fact.

“But I play tennis, I go to Pilates and ballet classes, so I’m pretty fit for someone of my age.

“I’ve told my pro partner, Kai Widdrington, there are things I can do and things I can’t. I just want to do everything properly. I’ve told him, ‘Challenge me’.”

Meanwhile, Piers Morgan also revealed that he turned down Strictly Come Dancing when bosses asked him to appear on the BBC 1 show as “there wasn’t enough money.”

The TalkTV host said: “Strictly asked me last year. There wasn’t enough money. If you want me to humiliate myself on a dance floor, I was offered $150,000 by Dancing With The Stars in America when I was doing America’s Got Talent.

“And I said, ‘Come back to me if it’s $1.2million’. They haven’t come back yet.”

Piers was asked whether he’d ever consider it, responding with a grin: “I don’t want to put the other contestants under that kind of pressure. Look at this natural dancing torso.”
