Each year, the last four I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! contestants get to take part in the iconic Celebrity Cyclone trial in a bid to win a luxury meal for camp. It has been a regular fixture since 2006 and sees the campmates pelted with air, water and inflatables on a slippery uphill slope. However, as it returns tonight, Ant and Dec have refused to take part again after Dec suffered an injury to his shoulder.
The Geordie presenting duo took on the Cyclone back in 2012 in order to raise money for the charity event Text Santa.
Fellow, I’m A Celebrity contestant Joe Swash welcomed Ant and Dec to the trial area where they were challenged to raise a mammoth £100,000 for charitable causes.
Joe explained: “Each star marker that you reach is worth £25,000, so that’s a total of £100,000 for Text Santa.”
However, the chances of the pair taking on the challenge again seem far from likely as it injured Dec and sent him to physio for six months.
Fans have been begging the duo to take part in the challenge again, but they shut down the calls on their Instagram page.
Ant said: “We’re doing the Celebrity Cyclone today. It’s always fun to do, but it takes a while to do.
“It takes a long time to get everything set up and get all the paint bombs set up and all the sludge and the slime. Yeah, it takes a long time but it is fun the most fun.
“Everybody who watches the show always wants to give it a go. We’ve actually done it in the past. We’ve done the trial. We did it for charity years ago, didn’t you pop your shoulder?”
Dec replied: “Yeah I did. I ended up in physio for six months afterwards. But it was great fun.”
Laughing, Ant added: “Fun times though guys, fun times.”
Last night, Seann Walsh was the seventh contestant to be eliminated from the series, just days away from the final on Sunday, November 27.
Sitting down with Ant and Dec and looking back through his best moments, Seann expressed: “I am watering in the eyes.
“So many memories, so many amazing memories. I absolutely loved it, and it is tough and I don’t know how much that comes across.
“But it is tough for everyone, especially in that middle bit, but as soon as you guys said my name, all of the tough bit goes, now I am just left with incredible memories.
“We all listened and everyone got their story out and there was so much support and I feel like everyone in there accepted one another for who we are today and who we are in that jungle.
“I think everyone got a fair go in there, and to get this far it feels great, disappointed to be that close to Cyclone.”
He also revealed that he would “love” to see Lioness Jill Scott crowned the Queen of the Jungle after describing her as “funny” and “the best woman”.
Seann arrived on the show late with former Health Secretary Matt Hancock and was left stunned by his arrival.
In the Bush Telegraph, he couldn’t get his head around Matt’s arrival and laughed: “Matt Han…. [laughs]…. I can’t… Matt Han…”
However, by spending time together the pair managed to form a bond with one another, as they did when they rejoined the other contestants.
I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! airs daily from 9pm on ITV.
